Yesterday, Cardano executed the 'Chang' hard fork at block, marking the transition to the "Voltaire Era" and introducing on-chain governance using ADA. The update allows ADA holders to vote on key proposals and elect representatives, aiming to make Cardano a self-sustaining network. The hard fork, named after Phil Chang of IOHK, the engineering company behind Cardano, represents a big shift in governance, removing exclusive control from founding organizations. The upgrade also includes ‘Plutus v3’ for enhanced smart contracts. ADA fell over 2.5% following the update. Source: Decrypt
