Dodgers president of baseball operations isn't just ready to close up shop in Orlando; Dave Roberts talks about Teoscar Hernández; Scott Boras speaks up about potential Cody Bellinger reunion in Los Angeles.

It's been quite a busy day in the world of the Los Angeles Dodgers after signing free agent fire-balling reliever Edwin Díaz to a three-year, $69 million contract.

So, is that a wrap for the Winter Meetings as far as the Dodgers are concerned? Not so fast.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman spoke to reporters on Tuesday and offered his assessment of where things stood right now.

Dodgers beat writer Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times offered some insight into what Friedman said. Would there be another big-name free agent signing soon? "I would say we definitely can ...," Friedman said. "How likely it is, is probably another question." He added that any new free agent signing would have to make some type of sense "within the timing of our roster."

Friedman added a little more context on potentially making another splash at the Winter Meetings.

"We are really in a strong position right now, financially, and our ownership group has been incredibly supportive of pouring that back into our team and that partnership with our fans," Friedman said. "As we look at things, if we were on a really tight budget we probably wouldn't allocate in the same way.

"But having more resources, it allows us to be a little bit more aggressive on that point. In a world where there are major constraints, that wouldn't be an area where I personally would allocate versus other areas," he said. "But we're in a really fortunate position right now and we have a really talented team going into 2026.

"We're going to do everything we can to put ourselves in the best position to win a World Series," Friedman said.

Friedman also commented on first baseman Freddie Freeman, too. World Baseball Classic's Team Canada manager Ernie Whitt said that Freeman wanted to participate if he wanted to do so. But Whitt indicated that Freeman was undergoing some type of procedures at this time. Freeman said that he's been having some heath issues, according to Dodgers Nation.

Friedman said, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, that he didn't think Freeman would need any type of procedures done. Also, Friedman was not able to comment on other potential business at this time since it was not official, according to Ardaya's reporting

    Latest on Teoscar Hernández

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had an interesting comment when it comes to outfielder Teoscar Hernández, who has been the subject of some possible trade rumors.

While at the Winter Meetings in Orlando, Fla., Roberts said that Hernández is the team's right fielder "right now." But those pesky trade rumors keep on swirling around him.

With Friedman being a little bit coy on future moves, it's possible that either Hernández stays or is part of a trade package.

There's still time at the Winter Meeting to get something done, or even after the meetings wrap up, too.

    Is Cody Bellinger coming back?

Sports super-agent Scott Boras also was present at the Winter Meetings. That's not surprising since Boras represents some of baseball's biggest stars.

Yet, there's also been a bit of chatter out there about a potential reunion between the Dodgers and Bellinger. When asked about it on Tuesday, Boras kept an open mind.

"In today's world everyone views the Dodgers as a Goliath, and when Goliath wants something, we'll see," Boras told Dodgers Nation reporter Doug McKain. "He loved his time as a Dodger. He has a very open mind about free agency and the possibilities."

Boras knows what's happening all the time with his players. He's not going to fully tip his cap as to what might or might not be happening. Yet his small comment about Bellinger loving his time in Los Angeles might give fans some hope about Bellinger coming back to Dodger Stadium in the 2026 MLB season.
