Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell left Wednesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Here's a report from Dodgers Roundtable reporter Adrian Medina on the situation. "With the sudden dismissal of Blake Snell today, all signs are now pointing to Roki Sasaki retaining his role in the Dodgers rotation once he comes back from the IL," Medina wrote on X. Ohtani Back Out of Dodgers' Lineup

Once again, Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is out of the starting lineup on Wednesday night. This marks the sixth time in seven games where Ohtani has not been in manager Dave Roberts' lineup card. Ohtani is still dealing with nagging knee, biceps and neck injuries, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. These injury situations surrounding Ohtani go all the way back to June. Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, who has announced that he's only going to focus on his hitting for the rest of this season, is out again. Ohtani was not on the lineup card for Tuesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Freddie Freeman reportedly will fill the designated hitter's spot, and Tommy Edman will bat leadoff for Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. Ohtani just returned on Monday. Now, he's out again. Dodgers Getting Battered by Cardinals

The scene does not look pretty on Tuesday night at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium as the St. Louis Cardinals are hammering the Los Angeles Dodgers. Through six innings, the Cardinals are up 10-4. Dodgers starter Eric Lauer did not have a good outing, going three innings. He gave up eight hits, seven earned runs, walked one, struck out two, and coughed up two home runs. Reliever Seth Halvorsen, who came over to the Dodgers from the Colorado Rockies, worked one inning. Halvorsen gave up one hit, two earned runs, walked one, struck out one, and gave up a home run. Alex Vesia gave up an earned run, Kyle Hurt worked a clean sixth, and Justin Wrobleski came on in the top of the seventh. With just one out, though, Wrobleski already has given up an earned run. ICYMI: Red Sox Sink Dodgers on Friday Night

Friday night's series opener between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers didn't go the home team's way, Boston jumped out to a 3-1 lead after four innings and added on as the Red Sox dropped the Dodgers 9-4 at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium. A five-run seventh inning sealed the deal for the Red Sox. Cole Irvin, who was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Saturday, took the loss on Friday night. He worked six innings to help support the Dodgers' bullpen, but gave up six hits, six earned runs, walked three, struck out five, and allowed one home run. Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 at the plate, while teammate Shohei Ohtani was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.Aug 2, 2026

While there have been plenty of smoke signals around whether or not the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to pull the trigger on a trade for Detroit Tigers ace pitcher Tarik Skubal, an interesting occurrence happened on Saturday night. According to a post on X from Nelson Espinal of Dodgers Nation, Kendall George and Zyhir Hope, two top outfielder prospects with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, have been scratched from before the Drillers' game. When Will Shohei Pitch Again?

As much as Shohei Ohtani can deliver while he's the designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers, his future this season as a pitcher is in peril. The Dodgers have been waiting to see if Ohtani was in shape for a return to the mound. He's not at this time. And, to be honest, it looks like he might not get on the mound in a game this season. The Dodgers and, of course, Ohtani are going to do all they can to get him back as a pitcher. Should Ohtani get back in time for the postseason, then Los Angeles will be in good shape.
