Hello BBSers well i have been away for a while travelling and busy with work but here i am back on this platform..
all this while i have been doing my bit of research on different Web3 SocialFi platforms to see how they are progressing comparing to BBS..

i had made a post comparing BBS to different Web3 SOcialFi platforms last year..
here i want to share you about a platform which is growing and is  similar to what bbs wants to achieve the platform is called DSCVR and it is based on Solana chain..

DSCVR, or simply Discover, aims to be a creative mix of Reddit-based alternatives with a sparkly integration of Medium blog that integrates Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) to offer high web speed to all its active users.

Currently, DSCVR has approximately 200,000 active users who have access to the content and the platform, whose words are bricks to the foundation and evolution of such a venue.

what are the similarities of BBS and DSCVR well both are community based platforms and both layout are majority similar to reddit here is the Screenshot below..
as you can make different communities on BBS its the same concept on DSCVR you can make different portals (board/communities)

There are lot of different UI and UX functions that are missing on BBS such as the discover board mode and well layed out masterfeed.. 
as you can see on the below screenshot you can discover portals(boards) from your masterfeed while on BBS we have to manually find and search for different boards which gives limitation to user to find or discover new boards.. a discover and popular portals has to show up on BBS and they also has to include non EM approved boards in order to make new boards more visible and discoverable to new users and also to existiing users...

Another feature missing on UI/UX is the discover new users and find OG Users curretly on BBS the only way to find new users and follow them is by manually finding each users and going to their profile and follow them which is only possible if the users has made a post in recent time on the board which is a flaw imo if a new user joins BBS they get more confused and dont get the whole concept as take any platform of recent times every platform shows discover people/users or promote users who are active to get them more followers and viewers to their profile..

even DSCVR has a sepearte window for viewers to discover new users and follow them directly by just one click.. this feature has been asked by many in 2 years but yet it has not been given the Devlopment side has been very very slow TBH the necessary features which helps UI & UX to make better and ease to use has never given priority and it is time now for BBS to redesign and redeploy the work on UI & UX to make it more attractive give basic and all necessary features which has been asked by suggested by the users all this while..
The platform has to be more user friendly interms of UI and it has to be at par with atleast similar Web2 apps.. If we compare ourselves with Reddit UI then too there are alot of fnctions which are not dvloped or implemented on BBS its high time now to work more on devlopment side and give users what they want.. there has been no update or bug fixes from a long time now and it demotivates active users and makes us feel abondead i hope the team and Eyal listens to this and see other Web3 social platforms learn from it and implement what is necessary.. 

IMO The success also depends on the blockchain a project is using Solana,ETH,MATIC are somehwat popular chain right now and it co-relates with attracting the userbase tbh we being on EOS chain is a benifit in terms of the TX and fees but EOS chain not as widely popular as SOLANA or MATIC and the TX fees on those chains are also not deal breaking i would love if BBS platform becomes multi blockchain and attract big chain users to join BBS..

Another aspect is every Web3 Platform right now gives back fraction or even tiny amount back to users who are active on daily basis and putting their half day time to the platform.. 
with Daily or Weekly streak checkin rewards such platforms are retaining users this way by giving back a small or tiny friction amount of tokens to users it is not just helping those platforms to retain users but it helps users too and the users will have the excitement and rush to come and visit and give time to the platform..

Currently on BBS we have only manual way of distribution rewards to end users but there should be automated way of distributing rewards too in form of daily or weekly streack check in and active and engagement time given to the platform it will definately help attract new users and a tiny amount can be shared from the rewards table to the users.. There are board owners and users who have been consistent and giving half of their day time here and i feel it should be rewarded i have been consistent on this platform since Nov 2021 and hardly would have missed 10-12 days in total in almost 2 and half year in here but currently what i get is the Reputation points just for visiting each board i have joined the RP which holds no value now as the partner (whitelist) model is now no more in play wither remove RP or find a way to distribute the check in reward in automated way it is need of an hour and i see this will definately help attract new users and keep the users excited to be on the platform and give more time on the platform..

Looking at current community sentiment it is at the lowest in BBS history as there has been no single update or bug fixed in more than 6+ months now no devs seem to be here and the mods are also have no clue of whats going on in the background... alot of us are feeling demotivated and feel the team is just slowly trying to burn the house down i hope that is not the case this time..

BBS team and CEO has to do alot more if the new partnership with media outlet is just about bringing the media house on BBS and make them create their board and force their followers and readers/viewers to join BBS well then i guess it is destined to fail as we have many example of such boards which were brought up by BBS team..
Crypto Banter,AITAH,DAOMAKER,PROCHOC and few more board which were promoted as a partnership model and has not worked well it all starts with hype to begin with and down the line ends up abandoned as the board owner and looses interest i hope that wont be the case with the new media partnership and more support,education and feedback and reviews should be shared to new boards on daily basis and communication is there from the start by the team as i am sure many of us who have been here get frustrated when new boards are created with hype and then in just few weeks we see the downfall and the board and owner just go away and no where to be found.. I hope eyal has more ways to actually promote BBS and be value adding in web3 and not just board creation plan with this partnership..

Well thats it for now and i hope 2024 will ignite the fire and give new direction to the BBS platform and we learn and implement best things of other Web3 platforms starting from UI & UX to fulfilling user and market needs..
