The best way to improve your writing is to write more. A lot more.

Okay, that’s the easy part — the part you already knew. It’s like a top-10 list with the number one answer being “be better at it.” But how does that work? How do you actually go about doing that?

Well, for starters, you could keep reading this article and learn some copywriting techniques. Or you can check out other articles on our site — we’ve got plenty of them.

But most importantly, you should read as much as possible and practice what you learn as often as possible. Here’s a step-by-step process we recommend:

1) Take a piece of writing (ideally something similar to what you want to write). It could be an ad, blog post, podcast transcript, or whatever really — just make sure it’s something fairly short so it doesn’t take too long to analyze.

2) Read the whole thing WITHOUT taking notes or highlighting anything. Just read it all the way through — one time only! Do NOT skim or skip any parts or else you defeat the purpose of this exercise!
