Greetings, BBSers!
Version 4.2.4 of the BBS Network web application has been released. This update implements a host of changes and improvements:
We're pleased to announce that the impressions mechanics have been updated to include non-registered user activity. This, with the new formula, allows boards and partnered publishers to be rewarded for engaging audiences outside of BBS members, providing a massively broadened audience for board owners and content publishers.
Version 4.2.4 introduces a major update to the engagement mining reward formula, incorporating activity from unregistered users.
The previous formula was:
Score = DAM(d) + GF(d)
and now we've refined it to:
Score = DAM(d) + GF(d) + (DAU-DAM)(d)/10
Where:
DAM = 28d Avg Daily Active Members
GF = Growth Factor [GF = AvgDAU(1d) - AvgDAU(28d ago)]
DAU = 28d Avg Daily Active Users
The last addition to the formula provides value to the difference between your unregistered and registered user activity, providing a scaled value for unregistered members.
This update to the formula represents a significant step towards fully capturing the scope of community engagement on the BBS Network. It means that board owners and their partners will now experience a more accurate reflection of the engagement their content generates, and potentially enjoy higher rewards as a result. We believe that this change will inspire even more vibrant interaction and content creation across the BBS Network, and is a strong step in improving mechanical incentivization.
Also included with this version is the ability for board owners to deposit cashable amounts into their board’s community pool, allowing board owners better control over the pool. This can be found in the “Deposit” section of the profile.
Additionally some minor design and UI fixes have been included, such as
