Almost all traditional social media platforms have a specific feature that is missing in bbs:
The algorithmic content recommendation
One of the things every social network wants you to do once you have logged in is to make you stay as much as possible. No matter if we talk LinkedIn (that proposes you other users that may be known by you I order to expand your network and enrich the content you have access to), or Facebook (that proposes you other users that could be friends of you), or Spotify (that has an algorithm to propose you music based on what you heard, or Twitter (that proposes you users or popular tweets based on what you read and follow)… I could go on and on with examples, but the point os clear: the majority of the social networks have an algorithm working in offering you content that os suited to what you like in order to increase internal traffic. BBS does not have such an algorithm:
I think it would be nice to have the system suggesting you boards, or specific content creators or specific posts, to push current users to explore what they still don’t know about bbs.
Is there anything of that sort foreseen to be added?
