Which BBS Board should we join and participate in? - Part 1
One factor that affects your choice is why are you in BBS. Is it to earn from BBS or because you enjoy the activity or subject matter of a board? If the primary purpose of being in BBS is to earn money (BBS Tokens) then you should look at the EM approved boards. EM or Engagement Mining is the means BBS distribute funds to boards that have qualified for EM. The moderators of the EM approved boards are then able to distribute the funds the board receives to its members. This will mainly be by way of tips for good posts or engagement (comments) on the board. A secondary way to earn is to made a partner of the EM approved board. You will then be able to earn something from the impressions received by the posts you make on those boards. This used to be an important way of earning when the CPM rate was 150 or 50 and when the traffic in BBS was much higher than the current level. As a combination of the low traffic level (number of impressions a post is likely to get) and the average CPM rate of around 5, the earnings of partners by this route is no longer significant. When you participate in a board that has not been approved for EM, the board will not have funds to tip you. However it is good for you to participate. Boards need to achieve a certain level of activity in order to qualify for EM. Thus they need more people to participate before they can apply for EM If your participation significantly contributed to a board getting EM, they will definitely grant you partnership status that enables you to earn from impressions on your posts. Also you will have the personal satis Whether the primary purpose for being in BBS is to earn or not, it is good to look for boards dealing with subjects that you are interested in. Because of your interest, you can enjoy participating in the board. Earning from the board is a bonus. For example if you are interested in football you do not mind paying to buy tickets or TV subscription. You do not expect to be paid for what you enjoy. When you participate in a board that have not been approved for EM, the board will not have funds to tip you. However it will be good if you participate in non EM boards. They need to achieve certain levels of activity in order to qualify for EM. They need your participation in order to qualify for EM. If your participation contributed significantly to a board getting EM status, they will definitely grant you partnership status that enables you to earn from impressions. You also have the personal satisfaction of knowing you helped the board get EM status. 🦋 This post has dealt with the choice of boards in general. In part 2, I will deal with choosing which Crypto based board. 🦋

Is BBS a S**t Coin?
There are skeptics who think that BBS will fail and go to zero and so is a S**t coin. I do not believe that this is the case and BBS is neither a S**t coin not a Meme coins Meme coins have often been said to be of no real use and are S**t coins. But there are so many meme coins that have done spectacularly like Doge ,Shib, Pepe, Bonk. Although I do not agree that BBS is a meme coin. I do not mind if the market treats it as one and make its price go Bongkers like what will happen to Bonk. 🤣🦋 I have yet to withdraw my BBS tokens from the wallet kept by BBS Network to my own private wallet because of the high gas fees to do so. If the price of BBS tokens go Bongkers up, I have have to withdraw before I can sell 🦋 For those who already have BBS tokens in your own wallet, at what price will you sell? Meme coins pump but they also dump. It would be wise to take profits instead of HODL if BBS Bongks.

Will BBS Benefit or When Will BBS Benefit From The Dencun Upgrade?
https://youtu.be/LP5wZephpYg?si=OtBsSnQ87yTRpvXb High gas fees is an issue that has plagued the BBS token. Those Ethereum Layer 2's have started to implement the features of the Dencun upgrade has experienced a huge drop in gas fees. BBS is not an Ethereum Layer 2 and so cannot directly get a reduction in gas fees. What the post in the link above mentioned is that the Layer 2 applications experience a huge drop in gas fees. The gas fees they have to pay is so low that some of them will be willing to absorb the gas fees for their users. Can BBS look forward to Layer 2's absorbing our gas fees or at least a major part of it? 🦋 What does the BBS team have to do in order for us to benefit like mentioned above? 🦋

The Handing Over
As one of the members of Sportx I am sad to see Lguigs step down as Admin of the board. I think that he and Tyler were the bests admins BBS had. The reason that Sportx is the board that I am most active in is my support for Lguigs. While I am sad that he stepped down, I praise his decision because Sportx needs an admin who can devote time and effort to running it well. On this vein, I commend Melhu for handing over Mwatalk to Kryptokitty. KK has been running Mwatalk well as well as fulfilling the role of moderator in Sportx. There are so many boards that the Admin is no longer around. For some boards, even the other moderators are not around. As a result the boards are dead or there are posts that are out of topic or have just a few words and a link to something from other social media. Because their are no moderators no action is taken on such posts. In order for boards to run properly it must have dedicated people running it. Kudos to Rasta at Sativa. Kitty at Mwatalk, Wilba at Gametech, Individi at Sportx

The New Number 1 In BBS
Some time ago Tyler resigned as the Admin of METABBS. Tyler was then the No.1 or chief moderator of METABBS. METABBS is considered as the main board in BBS.METABBS is the board through which announcements of any changes about the BBS Network are made. Both METABBS and the BBS Network have declined and seem to be aimless and lacking leadership. Much criticism have been thrown about the changes that have been made, the lack of direction action and leadership. Criticisms included some against the number 1 boss in BBS, Eyal. Since 5 days ago, there has been a new Number 1 in BBS. No, No, No. Eyal has not been dethroned. The New Number 1 in BBS that I refer to is the Number 1 ranked board in BBS. It may come as a surprise to many, especially those who do not refer to the Reward Table published every day. For the last 5 days in a row, the top ranking board in BBS is SATIVA. Congratulations to SATIVA, Crypto Rasta and the moderators of SATIVA. If I am not mistaken many of the members of SATIVA are not aware of them now being Number 1. 🦋🦋 SATIVA is a board that promotes POSITIVITY. We need to remain positive, believe and keep trying no matter what we face. CAN WE REMAIN POSITIVE ABOUT BBS? Perhaps more important than "Can We? " Is "WILL WE? " If we will and continue to both hope for the best AND DO OUR BEST, then BBS rising again WILL happen. 🦋

Reputations Vs Community Currencies
One of the changes made by BBS was to replace the buying of posts using community currencies with the promotion of posts using reputations. This is not a change that I like. I think there are many other users who prefer the buying of posts using community currencies. Yes there were faults in the old system (especially in the early days of BBS) that needed to be changed. The ability to earn cashables from price appreciation of posts was manipulated by buying and selling posts to Jack up prices and earn cashables along the way. Putting a stop to this was a very good decision. However the buying of a good post to earn advertising revenue while being the current owner of the post is good. I am sure there are BBS users who remember the "Good Old Days" and the excitement of buying posts especially pinned posts announcing changes! Such posts will be read by people and will generate impressions. So they were good posts to buy in order to get a share of the advertising revenue. What needed to be changed was the revenue sharing ratio between the publisher and the current owner. At that time revenue was shared equally between the publisher and the current owner. Publishing a post requires much effort whereas buying a post requires just pressing a few buttons. So the publisher of posts deserve to get a bigger share of the revenue. A 75%:25% is IMO better than a 50-50 split. Another reason why I think that giving current owners small share (20% instead of 25% as proposed above is also fine) is not not everyone is good at writing. So those who are not good a writing can contribute to communities by reading posts and buying them. The suggestion that was made by several people that the opening of posts to read is required before one can buy the post was a good suggestion. Under the system of buying posts to be the current owner entitled to a share of the advertising revenue gave purpose to community currencies. Reputations in the current system are superfluous or of no real value. What do the promoter of posts get? - more of the useless reputations. The uselessness of reputations is such that many users do not bother to log in to many of the boards they joined in order to collect the 5 reputations bonus each day. If we revert back to community currencies that is used to buy posts, the incentive to log in to boards is there. This daily logging in to collect bonus will help to improve the traffic statistics of boards.

Have we reached the end of the tunnel or is there any light ahead?
It has been a long time since we had a weekly report on the performance of the EM Boards. Back then when we had such reports, METABBS was the only board that consistently met the requirements of EM. Since that time, the level of activity on METABBS has gone down and now is not much better than the other boards. Overall, the number of unique members for the whole of BBS has gone down from around 500 to less than 400 for most days (to as low as 350 some times) . Have we hit bottom yet? Is there a glimmer of light that is appearing? Hopefully, the comment that Eyal made in Nattosheru's post is the glimmer of light. The ability to earn from BBS should not be the sole motivation for its users. But it is an important factor. The lack of funds to reward users and even the team behind BBS has contributed to the downturn for the whole of BBS. Will the availability of funds from new investors and the changes that are to come, help to revive BBS?

High ETH gas fees on our BBS Tokens.
One problem that has bugged BBS tokens is the high gas fees. Whether we just want to withdraw BBS tokens from the default BBS wallet to a Metamask wallet or to stake/restake BBS tokens, we have to incur exorbitant gas fees. 😭 As BTC surged past $50, 000 yesterday, the ETH gas fees rose to its highest level in 8 months. As BTC price retreated to $48.4K the gas fees also eased slightly. The problem will not go away and gas fees will go up again as BTC continue to go up in price. The problem with ETH is its slowness and so the congestion it faces when the volume of transaction is high. We were promised some improvement with ETH 2.0 but this has not turned out to be so. Gas fees remained high. Now we are told that the ERC 404 protocol for ETH will reduce gas fees for ETH. Let us see whether this will materialize. One problem with ETH is that it is slow to implement the changes it proposes. ETH 2.0 was delayed by more than 2 years. Now we will have to wait for don't know when before ERC 404 is implemented. The promised reduction in gas fees of between 27% to 50% is substantial but the ETH gas fees will still be very high compared with Solana and Avalanche. Will we be satisfied with the improvements that will come to ETH? Should BBS consider whether It should be ported over to EVM compatible Solana?

Motivating Users In BBS
This post is for both the development team of BBS and admin/moderators of BBS boards. A new user of BBS made a post that it is easy to earn in BBS. He had worked about 3 hours a day for about 1.5 years on YouTube to earn $1 from 3,000 views. He has earned $3 tips in BBS so far. Compared to the big social media platforms, it is still easier for ordinary people to earn in BBS. However the days when it was super easy to earn in BBS is over. In the early days of BBS, the way to earn money was to earn cashables which can be cashed out after you have been whitelisted. Cashables could be earned by both making posts or buying posts. Advertising revenue was shared equally between the maker of the post and the current owner who bought the post. The payout to makers of the post and the current owners was very generous with a CPM of 150 x the number of impressions the post get. The overly generous payout drew in people who abused the system to earn large amounts of money. The system was gradually tightened, culminating with the great reset. All whitelisting was revoked and users had to work at being made a partner of boards before they could get a share of the revenue earned by the board. After the great reset users tried hard to get partnered. Boards had to make rules to prevent people from making posts or DM's asking for partnership. There was discontent amongst users that they cannot earn until they become partners. The step of introducing tipping posts and comments was an excellent move. This allows non partners to be able to earn from making posts and comments. However the problem still remains that only boards that are EM approved have the funds to tip. This gives rise to the catch 22 or chicken/egg first situation for non EM boards. Without funds to tip it is very difficult for them to sustain the level of activity needed to get EM. New users will be drawn to the EM boards that have funds to tip. So after the initial spurt of activity by the founding members dwindle, new boards dry up and there is hardly any activity on such boards. BBS need to support the growth of new boards. We have been told that the team is trying to get in those who already have substantial social media presence into BBS. From the point of view of those who already have a substantial social media presence, it is not worth spending so much effort to earn tens of dollars in BBS when they can earn thousands from their existing platforms. 🤔 Coming back to changes in the earning model for BBS. The CPM rate for BBS went down from 150 to 5. The current average CPM has gone up to 7 (quite a big percentage increase from 5) but is a long way off from the 150 that it once was. We should NOT go back to anything near the 150 level. Not only is that level UNSUSTAINABLE but it will draw undesirable people to come in just to make money. Suggestion 1: Slowly (like how it was done from 5 to 7) increasing CPM to 10 for EM boards will help to revive those boards and encourage them to carry on fighting. Suggestion 2: To help non EM boards, they should be given a CPM of say 25% or 30% of the CPM of EM boards. This will enable the moderators of non EM boards to tip those who make good posts or comments. The low CPM for such boards will ensure that moderators are selective in their tipping and so avoid encouraging low quality posts/comments for the sake of making money. The above suggestions recognize that money is an important motivation. However there are also other important motivations that the development team and admins of boards should be aware of: The low amount of traffic (and thus the average number of impressions per post - even good posts) together with low CPM (compared to old days) has decimated the cashables that can be earned from making posts. Because of this, BBS users are no longer clamoring to be made partners anymore. Many boards have not reviewed their partnership lists for a long time. The small amount of cashables that can be earned by partners does NOT make partnership irrelevant. Being made a partner satisfies some of the higher needs in Maslow's Heirachy Of Needs. Being made a partner makes users feel appreciated and recognized. So those boards that have not reviewed their partnership list for a long time should do so 🦋 After their basic needs have been met, people seek other things such as entertainment or friendship/relationship, ego and self actualization. This why some of us are still in BBS. We enjoy what we can take part in and the discussions or friendships and affirmation we can get here. Examples are movie lovers in FCB, football fans in SPORTS, and gamers in GAMTECH. So let us keep BBS a place where we can enjoy discussions and friendships. BBS is not a place for personal attacks and quarrels. Even when we disagree, we should remain civil 🦋

Will BBS Ever Make It To Become A Success?
Many of the old and successful members of BBS has left. Eyal has been making posts about changes to come that may bring some life back to BBS. For the few OG's that are still present in BBS, the title of the Ted Talk by Anne Mahlum. "There Is No Way This Will Work" seems to sum up their expectations of what Eyal says. Anne was 32 years old at the time she gave the Ted Talk. She had a good childhood and a happy family life until she was 16 years old. (The first 1.5 years of BBS were good) Then things happened that turned her world up side down. For most of her twenties, she had no self worth and self value. The discipline of taking up running to the stage of being able to run marathons enabled her to get some semblance of success in spite of her low self worth and self value. Will the determination of the few who remain in BBS to plod on keep BBS alive? I am no way as successful as many who have left or the few other OG's that remain. In fact, you can say that I am a huge failure in life. Burdened with a mega inferiority complex, I underachieved both academically and career wise. Like the homeless men that Anne ran past, I need affirmation to help me believe in myself and not be not so negative about myself. I am a fledgling work in progress with a long long way to go in being rehabilitated. So the Ted Talk by Anne is a great encouragement to me and my attempt to use BBS to reach out to others who are struggling like me. Anne's sharing about her painful past and her struggles that have brought hope and self belief to many people is a great encouragement. Hopefully, I and others like me will also be transformed and succeed Stories about my past and those of my friends, Dawn and Eric, are found in the BBS board, ME MORE aka Memories Of The Way We Were. I was getting discouraged by the lack of success of MEMORE and have not updated it for quite long. Coming across the video of Anne has encouraged to not give up but to start posting in MEMORE again. Dawn, Eric and me hope that more people will join us there. We hope that our sharing of our Memories and present will encourage others who struggle like us. Just like how Anne made it her mission to help homeless men gain self value and self with, Dawn, Eric and me has made it a mission to use MEMORE to reach out to fellow strugglers🦋 Anne was told that her plans for the homeless people will not work. But she made them work. Her organization is still growing and has helped many people. DO YOU THINK BBS WILL SUCCEED? I hope so. And I hope that I and my Boards in BBS will grow together with BBS 🙏🙏

What Have You Done With Your BBS tokens?
Have you staked any of your BBS tokens? If yes, do you regret doing so? When BBS was launched, we were told that the benefits of staking includes: - the right to vote in the DAO on issues that affect BBS - the potential of capital gains if the price of BBS tokens increase during the period it was staked. Those who tried to reap the above mentioned benefits have been badly disappointed. As far as I know, the voting through the DAO has yet to be implemented. Instead of the price of BBS tokens rising it fell to as low as almost 0.5 cent at one time. It is now over a cent but still much lower than what we got them at. We will be much better off if instead of staking them, we sold them and buy them when the price is much lower. We will have gained several hundred percent more BBS tokens if we had used the sales proceeds to buy back especially when it was less than 1 cent each. Even if we had not bought at that time when the price of BBS tokens was so low, buying now is still at a much lower price than at the time they were staked. For the lucky ones who sold BBS tokens, have you bought back yet? Where do you think the price of BBS will be in say 6 months time or the end of of 2024? What do you plan to do? Is it a good time to buy BBS? Is now a good time to stake BBS tokens? (Maybe get capital appreciation which early stakers never got)

BBS Needs The Support Of Board Owners, Moderators And Users
The post below is copied and pasted from my post in VILLA. I thought that I had made the post in METABBS but found out that I accidentally made the post in VILLA when I received a notification that someone had promoted it in VILLA : In December 2023, I made a post on the importance of Board Owners and Moderators. In that post I gave the example of how METV flourished under the leadership of its owner, Chassp, and fantastic moderator, Lguigs. Now that both Chassp and Lguigs are no longer active in METV, it is struggling. Lguigs went on to SportX which rose quickly to become one of the top boards in BBS. The sorry state of BBS has disheartened a lot of the board owners and there are now a lot of inactive boards that was doing quite well at one time eg. Rendz (SHAREIT), Kalyan (BBSMATE) and many others. VILLA is a pale shadow of what it was when Cunzishu and Rexmatic were active there. Some of the board owners passed on the leadership of their boards to others eg Melhu and so MWATALK is still doing reasonably considering the overall low traffic in BBS. SportX is still surviving under its moderators but is not doing as well as when Lguigs was more active there. So the news that Tyler who was the community manager of Metabbs was leaving is very disheartening. His announcement that he is leaving was followed by statements by several stalwarts (that I refer to as 🗻🗻mountains) of BBS that they will scale back their involvement in BBS or even leave as well. This is very bad news for BBS. I am glad that some of the mountains have stated that they will soldier on. BBS needs the support of its mountains 🗻🗻 Can you imagine what will become of MWATALK, GAMETECH, and SPORTX, if their Kitty, Wilba, and Lguigs were to desert BBS. Competitions and Activities
Boards like SPORTX, MWATALK, GAMTECH, METV frequently have competitions and activities for their members. At a time when traffic is so low in BBS, these competitions and activities have helped to maintain some interest of their members. INDFAM which is the EM approved board that currently has the lowest traffic has just launched a competition. Hopefully it will not just be participated by its existing but inactive members but also bring the existence of the board to the notice of those who are interested in cricket. It has been a long time since METABBS organized any competition. Just because it is the best performing BBS board and the only board that consistently meet EM requirements does not mean that it can be complacent. As the leader, METABBS should spearhead efforts to bring BBS back up to the time it was flourishing. I believe that METABBS represents BBS Network so I would like to suggest 2 types of competitions for it to organize: 1 ) Competitions for its own members 2 ) Competitions between BBS boards Boards that win will be awarded BBS tokens that they can use to tip posts and comments of their members. In this way, the non EM boards can get funds to incentivize participation and good posts/comments. Perhaps such competitions can be held every month so there will be at least one board per month who has the chance of getting funds.

Bringing in traffic to BBS
Many of those who joined BBS in December 2021 and early 2022 did so because of the Crypto Banter YouTube channel. During the last few months when traffic in BBS was and still is low, there were calls for BBS to advertise externally and also to attract influencers to BBS. BBS has done something on the above. You may have wondered what Eyal's post below is about https://bbs.market/METABBS/posts/TmWNlVWFus3TPsoKRY71?refBy=912514955724541618 It was to announce an arrangement with a website the street.com that publishes articles on investing. The site is widely read and so it is good for BBS to be visible there. Selected articles on that site will have a link to a BBS board for those who want to discuss on the article. Those who click on the link will be taken to the BBS board RTCRYPT (Crypto Roundtable). They can comment anonymously or log in. Anonymous comments need to be approved before they will be shown. So it is better to log in to avoid having to wait for the comment to be approved. There has been complaints about the log in process not working so the BBS team will have to check to ensure that it works. I have been able to comment on the posts by joining RTCRYPT and commenting on the post there. The moderator of RTCRYPT is Peter Chawaga who is the senior editor of Bitcoin Magazine. He is very knowledgeable on cryptos. His posts in RTCRYPT are not just articles written by him but includes those of other writers of thestreet.com. So RTCRYPT will be a BBS board that those who are interested in cryptos can go to. It is still a small BBS board but given time it has the potential to be the Go-To Crypto Board in BBS As a member of RTCRYPT you can make your own posts there too. So those who used to make Crypto related posts in BANTER and VILLA can also make use of RTCRYPT. I have tried it and managed to do so.

is Eyal and BBS going to the mountain?
We have all heard of the phrase "going to the moon" It will certainly be good for all of us if BBS can fly to the moon 🚀to the🌙 What about "going to the mountain"? What does going to the mountain mean? I refer to the recent post by Eyal https://bbs.market/METABBS/posts/TmWNlVWFus3TPsoKRY71?refBy=912514955724541618 Going to the mountain refers to going to high places where there is existing traffic. Hopefully by going there we can draw some of the traffic to BBS and also be seen by the people there. if BBS collaborate with thestreet.com it will be a win-win situation. They get to publicize their articles to BBS users. Each of their articles posted in RTCRYPT (Crypto Roundtable) will have links to their other articles in their own websites. The discussion that is done in RTCRYPT about the articles by thestreet.com is traffic of BBS. Something that is currently low here. Future posts of thestreet.com will contain a link to RTCRYPT which is in BBS. So BBS becomes visible to the visitors of thestreet.com Going to mountains is what I have tried doing and suggested in

How important are the team behind BBS Boards in general and Crypto Boards in particular?
I believe that the team (owner and moderators) is crucial. When MNFTC first started as Meta Engagers its owner Chassp worked hard and ME was the shooting star in BBS. It grew rapidly especially after Lguigs became its main moderator. ME has rebranded to METV and is now one of the boards that have been failing to meet the requirements of EM. While the current low traffic in BBS has a part to play in this state of affairs, I believe that the decline of METV is mainly due to the absence of Chassp and Lguigs. IMO, Lguigs was the best moderator MNFTC ever had. This is shown by how SPORTX started by Lguigs grew even faster than MNFTC. Changing from a generic sports board to focussing on football removed a considerable amount of traffic. Prior to the change football and cricket were the sports with the most traffic. Cricket is so popular that INDFAM (Cric Talk) qualified for EM using it as the focus topic. As is the case with other EM boards that are struggling to meet the requirements of EM, the overall low traffic in BBS has a part to play. For SPORTX, Lguigs is also not as active as he once was Thankfully, he is still around and hopefully will continue to support SPORTX. Cryptos is the subject of many of the boards in BBS. It is the subject that has the most boards. In early 2022 BANTER and VILLA were 2 huge crypto boards that were approved for EM. VILLA was formed in October 2021 while BANTER was formed in December 2021. BANTER outgrew VILLA because it had the support of Cryptomanran of the Crypto Banter YouTube channel. Many users joined BBS because of his promotion of BBS in his YouTube channel. At one time BANTER had more members than METABBS and was also ranked first in the rewards table. There are also several boards with more than 10K members that are offshoots of BANTER eg CGAMING,, CHARTS, LUNATKS. The YouTube posts provided a steady supply of posts for BANTER and its Offshoots. However it must be mentioned that those who use links to the YouTube posts should put more effort to include original content such as discussing what was in the YouTube posts. Sadly this was not done and so there was low engagement on posts that are essentially just links to YouTube. Another reason for the decline of BANTER and its Offshoots is that its principals are not active in BBS anymore. VILLA was doing great when its owner, Cunzishu, and its chief moderator, Rexmatic were active in BBS. For whatever reasons they became inactive, VILLA is now practically deserted although it still has a lot of members like BANTER. In early 2022 IVERSE had more members and posts than DGBAR. The owner of DGBAR, CryptoSML was more committed and worked harder than the owner of IVERSE. IVERSE as a board is now as good as dead. DGBAR grew its membership and even qualified for Seed Funding. When it qualified for seed funding I had about $15 of cashables when the minimum required for whitelisting was $20. But the boost in CPM from 5 to 150 because of the funds from the seed funding allowed me to get the $5 within 2 weeks when it took me many months to get $15. However IMO using a CPM of 150 caused the $1, 000 from the seed funding to be used up too quickly. Before it had sufficient time to leverage on the high CPM to grow enough for EM, it ran out of funds. Once its CPM reverted to 5 it struggled to attract people to participate. It would have been better to use a CPM of say 30 which is still 6X those of other small non EM boards. The relatively higher CPM would have lasted 5X longer which may have enabled DGBAR to grow enough for EM It is a fact that people will gravitate to where they can earn. I reiterate my call that BBS should help boards that show potential to grow. Currently the small boards do not have the funds to tip posts/comments and so find it difficult to sustain the enthusiasm of people to participate on them. After the great reset, many boards chose Cryptos to be their subject and so this became an overcrowded topic. DGBAR changed its focus from cryptos to travel and later to world news. Recently CryptoSML made a post in DGBAR on whether it should change its topic from world news. I have discussed the issue with him and we agreed that economic news and how it affects investments including cryptos and other asset classes such as stocks, real property and precious metals is part and parcel of world news. I made a post in METABBS on the recent surge in crypto prices and whether I should use DGBAR to make posts on what is happening in the global economy and what are its effect. Unfortunately that post was hidden by METABBS. IMO I believe that post was not off topic as it included whether DGBAR is appropriate for me to make such posts. Perhaps I should have used a title that did not highlight the surge in crypto priceds but on whether DGBAR was an appropriate board for me to use. 🤔 CryptoSML has agreed that it is OK and I have made 2 posts there recently. There are a lot more posts that I intend to make but it will take a while as I am a slow worker who type at 5 words per minute. CryptoSML has given me permission to promote DGBAR in METABBS which I will do after I have made more posts in DGBAR. Recently Eyal made a post that is connected to a board RTCRYPT (Crypto Roundtable) . This is a board where we can discuss about cryptos. That board has posts that are from TheStreet.Com which has a lot of investment related news. The activation of RTCRYPT may be a win-win case for BBS and TheStreet.com. They have an established on line presence and discussion about their posts may be able to bring traffic to us. On the other hand TheStreet.com is able to publicize their post to BBS users as their posts contains cross links to other posts made by them in their existing online presence. So RTCRYPT may be a board you may want to check out. As it has just been activated it currently has just 10 members. It has the potential to grow huge because of the backing of TheStreet.com. (just like BANTER) The early 🐦bird catches the 🐛 worm. Those who join RTCRYPT early can be the early 🐦🦜and grow/benefit like the early members of BANTER

Has Altcoins Season started and how will it affect our BBS token?
Both Cryptoglyn and Babila have made posts about the surge in the price of BBS tokens over the last few days. They have said that the surge may be due to the possibility that the deal with a new investor which has been mentioned by Eyal may have been agreed or is nearly there. Given the huge surge in terms of percentage increase, this may very well be true. The price of BTC has been rising for quite some time. The price of other cryptos have lagged behind BTC. This is normal as people are uncertain whether the resurgence of the crypto market will continue. So normally BTC being the biggest crypto that accounts for more than 50% of the whole crypto market will lead the way. When people become more confident. altcoins season will start and altcoins will catch up. ETH which is the 2nd biggest crypto tends to lead the altcoins season and then other altcoins join in. During altcoins season the rate of increase of ETH will exceed that of BTC and the rate of increase of many other altcoins will exceed that of ETH. Given the minute size of BBS and all the uncertainty surrounding it, we should expect BBS to be the laggard as the crypto market improve. Towards the end of November, BTC has surged and last Friday exceeded $39, 000 for a while before pulling back below $38, 000. It now seems to continue its climb and is retesting 39K. If it can close this week above 39K, then it is possible that we may see 42K next week. If the above happens, we can be confident that the start of altcoins season is confirmed and the prices of altcoins start to fly. BBS token may lag for a while but it will benefit from altcoins season. ETH is doing well recently and the price of altcoins is a sea of green. Hopefully altcoins season is here and we will see BBS above 3 cents in 2024. What price to you think that BBS can reach by mid 2024 and end 2024?

UUNET and THEWAR
I have pointed out in several of my posts that new boards find it very hard to grow and qualify for EM They may start off well because of the initial enthusiasm of its founders and its early members. They start posting and commenting and the new board flourishes for a while. But because it does not have funds to reward those who make posts and comments there, it is difficult to keep up the activity there. It is too natural for people to prefer to participate in EM approved boards that can reward its participants. Perhaps if the owner of a new board has deep personal pockets or can round up a group of supporters who is willing to back him financially, he can reward participants until such time that the board qualifies for EM. This is not the case with BBS currently. All the boards that are approved for EM qualified with the support of BBS through the seed funding program or during the time when every board (including non EM boards) could earn something - at least a CPM of 5 compared with 50 or 150 for EM boards. So by making posts in non EM boards, it was still possible at that time for anyone (including non partners) to earn something. You can say that tipping of posts/comments now allow anyone to earn from BBS. BUT how are non EM boards able to get funds to tip? Out of personal pockets of its owner and his supporters? Boards which were started by those who earned a lot of BBS tokens when it was super easy to earn could do so with the BBS tokens earned earlier. This is no longer the case in the foreseeable future. METV (formerly Meta Engaged) had the benefit of $2, 000 from qualifying twice or 2 rounds of Seed Funding. It also had the backing of several people who had accumulated BBS tokens when it was still easy to earn. Unless BBS restart some form of support for small boards with potential, it is highly unlikely for any new board to ever grow enough to qualify for EM based on the current criteria. UUNET which had the support of Eyal started with a bang and was doing well for a while. But it faced the problem mentioned above. Enthusiasm has died off and there is hardly any actually there nowadays. Today's reward table list JUNE at 90th place. Is it destined to die as many other boards have died? THEWAR which is a new board that is similar to UUNET is currently riding on the initial enthusiasm and has made it to 4th place in today's reward table. If THEWAR does not receive any support from BBS, will what happened to UUNET and many other boards also happen to THEWAR? I hope not. To show my support for THEWAR, I have recently started to comment there and made my first post there today. I hope that BBS will come out with some mechanism to support new/small boards. Perhaps restart a new form of the Seed Funding program

Inactive Communities
Prior to my being away from BBS for a few months due to hardware issues, the community that i was most active in was SCITE. There are 2 reasons for this. The main reason for this is that science and technology is a subject that i am interested in and am fairly knowledgeable about and so it is easy for me to write on. Although I was not officially a moderator there, I was acting like one. I commented on many of the posts there to add extra information and to correct what I considered as unclear or misleading. The second reason for me being so active there at that time was because of its owner, MMK@BBS. I like him and consider him as a good friend I made in BBS. So I tried hard to support SCITE and help it to grow and eventually get EM.Even though I was not a moderator I made board promotions for it in METABBS. When I came back to BBS after getting a second hand laptop, I was very sad to see that no one was making any posts in SCITE and MMK is no longer around in BBS. Does anyone have any information on MMK? I hope that nothing bad happened to him and that his leaving is just because of disappointment about BBS and thinking that the most active person on SCITE (me) is no longer interested. Now that i am back in BBS, I do not mind making posts on SCITE.My concern is that no one will read my posts there as it currently does not have any traffic at all except me visiting. Will any of those who used to be in SCITE care to try to reactivate it? Making posts and commenting there will not earn us anything - It is not in EM and its owner is not around. It will be just because of our interest and enjoyment of the subject.---------------I am a member of a lot of boards as writing comes to me naturally and I can write on a diverse range of topics. The same problem as in SCITE applies to many of those communities. For example SHAREIT is a community for investing. Its owner, Rendz@BBS, has said that it is OK if i as want to make posts about "Global Economy" or on "Precious Metals".Before I can actually make such posts, SHAREIT has become abandoned like SCITE. Then there are several other communities that I used to post in.I am not a moderator in any of those communities. There is no indication of what will be the revised "Focus Topic" of those communities.Their owners are also not active in BBS anymore. Will it be better for me to start my own boards for the various topics that I am interested in?I will at least have control over the direction of those boards even though getting EM and earning will be practically impossible.
