Getting paid when people buy your post? How does that work?

Apr 13, 2022 6:20 PM

You may have published posts before and have it go to high prices even and wondered why your balance didn't go up by that much. After all if a post sells for $3.18, should I have +3.18 on my balance?

Well the truth is that you don't get most of that.

Each time someone purchases a post from a previous owner, they have to pay back the previous owner of all the money they paid plus extra. This is why the price goes up by 30% each time from .30 to .39 to .51 and so on and so forth.

Excluding the 1st sale that is 50% for the board, 50% for the publisher, every subsequent sale is 110% to the previous buyer, 10% to the publisher and 10% to the board.

As shown here, the current owner is Banter_Lover, having paid $2.44 +10%, equating to 2.69 (this has many decimals so the numbers aren't totally exact), 10% for the publisher and 10% for the board.

I hope that clarifies things.
