    Hey METABBS!

I wanted to cover the steps needed to withdraw to Coinbase with the memo line.

Withdrawing to Coinbase will convert your BBS tokens to EOS tokens and deposit them directly to Coinbase.

EOS uses destination tags for memos to allow depositing to the individual account within a platform

    What is a Destination Tag/Memo?

A Destination Tag/Memo is an additional address feature necessary for identifying a transaction recipient beyond a wallet address.

    Why is this needed?

Example: The address you send one of these cryptocurrencies to can be equated to an apartment building address. The Tag/Memo identifies which specific apartment you live in, in the apartment building.

How to find your Account's Tag

    Image

After logging into Coinbase, click 'Send / Receive' to open the token list.

Click the 'Asset' field where the token name is located, which will pop up a search box

Type EOS into the search box, then click the EOS token where it appears

You should receive a notification like this. After clicking 'I understand' you'll see the memo line to use for your transfer. Here's mine:

The EOS address should already be filled, and you'll find your memo tag below.

Make sure you enter your Memo tag EXACTLY how it comes up in Coinbase; BBS is not responsible for lost tokens sent to the wrong address!

Once you're sure it's the same memo tag, hit Withdraw and your withdraw will be processed! Allow some time for the network to confirm the transactions and you should see your BBS tokens get converted to EOS and deposited!
