Impressions, how do they work?

Mar 29, 2022 3:22 PM

I've seen in the past couple days a lot of posts asking how impressions worked and if people could do multiple impressions on the same post by clicking different things.

After extensive testing I have found out that you cannot make an impression for yourself. Meaning that you will never be able to make a print for a post your are the publisher of or that you currently own. You can however make an impression on an old post with a new banner. Testing for this wasn't easy but I'm not a knowledge seeker for nothing. (Of course don't go around spam imprinting on people as new banner comes because that's against ToS and will get you banned)

So with that said what works and doesn't?

There are different cases.

Related stories

1) Hidden posts

You see the banner is trying to load but doesn't. Because the post is hidden ut cannot generate impressions, logical, normal.

2) Liking disliking a post from outside of the post

Doesn't do anything. You have not seen a banner print. Nothing happens, normal, logical.

3) You buy a post from the outside of the post

As previously, you do not see a banner printed on the post. Nothing happens.

4) You open a post

Good you made a banner print!

* You now have made the owner and publisher of the post richer by 1/2000 of the boosted cpm value respectively! *Note you cannot print for yourself!

5) Commenting

You already printed ad revenue, nothing else will happen for your actions on the post. It is still nice to do so, please tag friends who'd like to read it also and give life to the post, or don't if you disliked it.

6) Liking, buying from inside the post

As for commenting this won't print more.

I hope this made things clearer for everyone.
