Welcome back BBSers!
We’re excited to announce that version 4.2.0 of the BBS Network web application has been released! This version introduces several landmark features to BBS, including:
Long awaited for the BBS application, members can now use Super Comments to tip post publishers in USD values directly from their BBS token balance or, with admin permission, a board’s community pool.
Super Comment tips are received directly into an account’s BBS token balance, shown in USD value.

Make your comment stand out and appear at the top of the list with a Super Comment!

Super Comments can be applied to a post by clicking the new Super Comment button in the comment input bar which will bring up the Super Comment menu.

Members who are not moderators on a board with permission to tip from the community pool will be prompted to tip directly from their BBS token balance.

Members can keep track of how much they’ve received from Super Comments in their Profile page. Super comment revenue from all boards is shown on the profile.
Previously, any rewards from the Engagement Mining program that were distributed after the maximum $70 CPM had been reached were left unused. With 4.2.0 any rewards distributed to an approved board over the maximum CPM will now be routed into the board’s Community Pool. In addition, impression revenue from posts published by non-partners will now distribute into the Community Pool instead of the Board Owner’s account.
The Community Pool can be used by approved moderators and the board owner in order to apply Super Comments on posts and tip publishers.

Permission to access the community pool for tipping can be granted through “Approve Partner & Tip from Community Pool” in the Admin Settings for each moderator.

Owners and moderators with permission will be prompted to tip directly from the Community Pool when creating a Super Comment.

Board owners can also transfer funds from the Community Pool into their Cashable Balance through the ‘Deposit’ menu found in the account profile.
In order to encourage the usage of Super Comments and allow for a higher distribution of funds into the Community Pool, the maximum CPM for a board is being lowered from $70 to $25.
This will not alter the total amount of rewards a board receives, but will instead in most cases divert a portion of board rewards into the Community Pool which can be used for manually rewarding publishers. This change will allow board owners and their teams to use Super Comments to create their own incentive models for their board, rewarding the posts and publishers publicly for the content that pushes the board forward.
Super Comments and Community Pools allow the Engagement Mining rewards to be balanced around both manual and automated reward distribution, giving owners more influence over how BBS monetization fuels their board’s growth.
We encourage owners and their teams to use Super Comments and Community Pools to fuel their board’s growth, and to build their own reward model that best suits their community!
