Every post published by BBS members is given an available banner space which advertisers as well as other community members can lease in order to present various ad campaigns. The ad revenue generated from these ad campaigns is distributed to the owners and publishers of a post.
The available banner space on posts is leased automatically to the highest CPM bidding ad campaign running at that time. With the 3.1.2 update, approved boards part of the Engagement Mining program will have their advertising CPM rate subsidized, or “boosted”, to the CPM rate set by the BBS DAO.
With the current $50 Engagement Mining CPM rates, this means that if an advertiser runs an ad campaign at $5 CPM and it wins the slot for the current top bid to display, the Engagement Mining program will “boost” the CPM of that campaign to $50. With this, advertisers can remain at competitive ad pricing while the Engagement Mining program subsidizes the rate to provide greater value to the users of the BBS Network.
BBS members can create an ad campaign through their Profile for the board they'd like to advertise on. You must be a partnered member of a board in order to start a campaign.
