The first thing you should do to improve your writing is to make sure your goal is clear. To do so, ask yourself these questions:

1) Who am I writing for?

2) What do I want from them?

3) What information do they ne ited before they will give me what I want?

4) How can I make this process as easy and enjoyable as possible for the reader?

Once you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve and why, you can make sure everything in your piece of content supports that goal; if it doesn't, remove it.

Now that you're clear on what the reader needs, share that information in an accessible way. Use vivid language and examples, and use a voice that's appropriate for your audience. If they're looking for information on how to get a job post-college, you might use a more formal tone than if you're trying to sell them on some new sneakers.

Lastly, don't forget about grammar! Even though written communication has become more informal in recent years, it's still important to follow the rules of grammar when writing professionally. If you're not sure about something, look it up; there are lots of great resources out there!
