LANCASTER, Calif., Mar. 29 (KNN) — A suspect barricaded in a tree approximately 50 feet in the air after leading the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on a high-speed pursuit late Saturday afternoon.
Eyad Alawi / KNNThe pursuit ended at Avenue G and 65th Street East in Lancaster at approximately 4:00 p.m.
According to authorities, the suspect was driving a stolen Dodge Charger, and a firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
Firefighters were staged nearby, and the mental evaluation team communicated with the suspect in an effort to resolve the situation peacefully.
The incident continued until the suspect was taken into custody at 5:25 p.m.
