García now goes to competitive National League club, will go right into lineup featuring Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber.

Adolis García has found a new home with a National League ballclub.

On Monday, García and the Philadelphia Phillies were reportedly putting the finishing touches on a one-year, $10 million contract. ESPN baseball reporter Jeff Passan shared the news in a post on X, where Passan indicated that baseball reporter Francys Romero had the news first.

For García, this gives him a fresh start. It also allows García to become part of a power-laden Phillies lineup. García will join a Phillies team that already has Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper ready to mash more home runs in 2026.

"Outfielder Adolis Garcia and the Philadelphia Phillies are finalizing a one-year, $10 million contract, sources tell ESPN," Passan wrote. "Garcia, 32, was non-tendered by Texas and will look for a bounceback season in the middle of Philadelphia's lineup. @francysromeroPR was on the news."

Of course, García played an integral role in leading the Rangers to their first World Series championship back in 2023. While he's shown some power over the past two seasons, his overall numbers haven't been as strong.

Last season, García's slash line wasn't that impressive. Because of that, Texas non-tendered García after the 2025 season ended. García and Jonah Heim were non-tendered as the ballclub will look to upgrade at their positions.

At the recent Winter Meetings in Orlando, Fla., Texas didn't make a big splash when it came to trades or signing free agents.

The Phillies will look to get back to the National League Championship Series in 2026. Don't be surprised if they square off, once again, with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers bounced the Phillies in the NLCS last season.

García gets a chance to have a fresh start in Philadelphia.

If he's able to have a rebound season for the Phillies, then the investment will be well worth it.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson has done a stellar job in keeping his ballclub competitive. The Phillies wouldn't have taken a chance on Garcia if they didn't think he still had something left in the tank.

Rangers fans will be watching how he performs for the Phillies next season, too.
