Rangers in Good Shape to Gain Ground
As the Texas Rangers get ready to take the field against the Washington Nationals at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, they are in good shape to get back into first place in the American League West Division. The division-leading Houston Astros have lost three straight games and are in danger of losing a fourth straight. The Astros host the Los Angeles Angels at Daikin Park in Houston on Wednesday night. Kumar Rocker gets the starting nod for the Rangers on Wednesday night. A win and an Astros loss can put things really tight atop the AL West.

DeGrom Removed for Rangers After Two Innings
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom was removed from Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels due to right triceps fatigue. In his two innings of work, deGrom gave up six hits, two earned runs, walked one, and struck out three. Shawn McFarland, who covers the Rangers for The Dallas Morning News, posted this on X after deGrom left the game. "We'll find out the severity of Jacob deGrom's tricep fatigue after the game, but with his glute/hip soreness already a thing and with Nathan Eovaldi on the injured list, the Rangers are in a brutal position with their two horses right now," McFarland wrote. It's midway through August, the Rangers are in a postseason playoff hunt, and potentially losing deGrom for any period of time is going to be a really big setback. Now, Rangers players and fans wait and see what any type of testing results come back for him.

Can Rangers Take Advantage of Angels' Collapse?
Right now, the Los Angeles Angels are ripe for the picking and the Texas Rangers should be able to get past this disastrous franchise. How bad is it in Angels land? The team fired pitching coach Mike Maddux, who was in his first season with the ballclub after successful years with the Rangers. Besides Maddux, ESPN reported on Tuesday that assistant pitching coach Darryl Scott and bullpen coach Dom Chiti also received their walking papers. Again, Texas should just go ahead and take the series.

Last 10 Games Not Good for Rangers
If you are a Texas Rangers fan, then you probably know that the ballclub has not been too proficient in the win column lately. How have the Rangers been doing over the past 10 games? Let's take a look. Ah, here it is. Texas has gone 3-7 while the Houston Astros, who now lead the American League West Division, have gone 8-2. Houston now has a 2.5-game lead over Texas, who had been in first place for a stretch, too. The time to hesitate is through and there's no time to wallow about their position. Texas has to get its act together right now.

Rangers Lose Again to Astros
While the Texas Rangers lost the Silver Boot Series this season against the Houston Astros on Friday night, they were looking to rebound at Daikin Park on Saturday night. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Jacob deGrom only got through 3.1 innings against the Astros, giving up seven hits, five earned runs, five walks, and three strikeouts. Steven Okert took the win in relief for Houston. Wyatt Langford and Elias Diaz had home runs for Texas in the 5-4 defeat. Langford now has 13 home runs this season, while Diaz now has five dingers. The Astros have won this weekend series and go for a sweep on Sunday afternoon. Kumar Rocker gets the start for Rangers manager Skip Schumaker. Peter Lambert will start for Houston.

Ranger Re-Sign Jarred Kelenic to Minor-League Deal
Three days ago, outfielder Jarred Kelenic was released by the Texas Rangers. On Wednesday, though, Texas brought back Kelenic into the organization. Kelenic and the Rangers are now back together after the team re-signed him to a minor-league deal with the ballclub. With that in mind, Kelenic will now go play for the Triple-A Round Rock Express. This is the third time that Kelenic has signed a minor-league pact with the Rangers in 2026.

Can Rangers Pick Up Series Win Against White Sox?
This Texas Rangers-Chicago White Sox three-game series has showcased a couple of games where both teams scored 10 runs in their victories. So, now, who will win the series by securing a Wednesday night win at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas? Rangers manager Skip Schumaker will give the ball to Tyler Alexander. Alexander is 1-1 this season with a 2.79 ERA to go along with 38 strikeouts and 11 walks. For the White Sox, Anthony Kay gets the start. Kay is 6-4 with a 4.24 ERA and 76 strikeouts to go along with 38 walks. Wednesday night's game looks like a doozy.

Rangers' Latz Enters All-Star Game in Seventh
Texas Rangers pitcher Jacob Latz entered into Tuesday night's MLB All-Star Game in the seventh inning. Latz worked a solid 1-2-3 seventh inning as the American League led the National League 3-0 after seven innings. The AL scored three first-inning runs and that has held up through those seven innings. That might be the only inning that Latz throws on Tuesday night. But it's sure nice to see Latz and the Rangers get some camera time on the Fox Sports broadcast.

Rangers Breathing Down Mariners' Necks
Just how big is Wednesday's game at Globe Life Field for the Texas Rangers? If they win and the Seattle Mariners lose, then your Rangers are moving into first place in the American League West Division. Think about it, Rangers fans. While this season hasn't always looked good, the fact that this ballclub has itself in this position is pretty amazing. Credit also needs to go to Rangers manager Skip Schumaker and his coaching staff for keeping the players focused. Let's see if Texas can get the dang thing done before the All-Star break hits.
