The Milwaukee Bucks have lost three of their last four, with all three coming by double digits.
Their latest loss came against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, who jumped out to a 38-18 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo took just 11 shots in the game, and only one in the first quarter.
After the game, Giannis was asked about the lack of field goal attempts.
"I'm not the guy that will yell and cuss his teammates out and demand the ball. I've never done that in my career, but I feel like I've played with teammates that kinda understand the gravity that I can cause for our team and how I can create for my teammates or for myself and how I can help the team be more successful," he said.
Giannis said that he didn't understand the reason for his lack of touches, but opined that it could be because they are young, or the team is not playing well, or that they are trying to carry the team themselves.
"I'm really trying to be aggressive. At the end of the day, I have coaches, people that talk to me, they told me there's this thing that's called the white swan and the black swan. You gotta be the black swan and be more aggressive and demand the ball. Again, it's something I've never done in my whole career, so maybe I gotta do it more."
Giannis hasn't taken more than 13 field goal attempts in each of the last four games. He has gotten to the line 41 times, but an average of 11 field goal attempts in the last four games is well below his 16 attempts on the season.
Even the 16 attempts on the season are below the 19 attempts per game he had last season.
This season is his lowest number of field goal attempts since his fourth season in the league.
The Bucks have been outscored 490-421 in their last four games. It's the second-worst point differential in the league during the stretch, with only the Brooklyn Nets being scored on more.
The Nets losing 120-66 in their last game against the Knicks certainly didn't help their standing.
If Giannis isn't going to take more shots, the guys who are have to make them.
Against the Thunder, Kyle Kuzma, Ryan Rollins, and Bobby Portis all took equal or more field goals than Giannis. They went a combined 14-37 while Giannis was 8-11.
Even in a victory over the Hawks, no one besides Giannis has scored more than 20 points during this four-game run.
