Miami, Fla. – Despite a heartbreaking ending in the Gainesville Regional, the Miami Hurricanes baseball program concluded the season with its best win total (39-20) since coach J.D. Arteaga was hired in 2023. As with football and basketball in Coral Gables, baseball is trending upward, but falling drastically short of reaching the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, means changes are needed.
The transfer portal window officially opened on June 1 and is set to close on June 30. As several players from the Hurricanes roster depart, others are looking to join. Here, on the MiamiRoundtable site, is a live baseball transfer portal tracker–providing updates on the latest news.

2. Right-handed pitcher Michal Kovala (JUCO Commit)
Previous school(s): Chipola College and Georgia Tech
Class for 2027: Redshirt Junior
Stats: 10 games started, 47 innings pitched, 12 total appearances, 5-0 record, and a 3.64 ERA in one season at Chipola.
Kovala is moving up from the junior college level to Divison I baseball, which makes him a recruit rather than a portal player. However, moving from one school to another, he will stay on the tracker.
3. Right-handed pitcher Kaden Varela Payne
Previous school(s): Concord University and Princeton
Class for 2027: Redshirt Junior
Stats: 14 games started, 87.2 innings pitched, 15 total appearances, 8-4 record, and a 4.11 ERA in one season at Concord.
Accolades: Consensus All-Atlantic Region Second Team (American Baseball Coaches Association, Division II Conference Commissioners Association, and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association), All-Mountain East Conference First Team, and four-time Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week.
4. Right-handed pitcher Jack Ensell

Class for 2027: Junior
Stats: 15 games started, 85.1 innings pitched, 29 total appearances, 5-6 record, and a 5.70 ERA in two seasons at Barry.
5. Right-handed pitcher Mason Horwat (Signed)
Previous school: Penn State University
Class for 2027: Senior
Stats: 17 games started, 145.2 innings pitched, 61 total appearances, 9-6 record, and a 6.49 ERA in three seasons at Penn State.
6. Right-Handed Pitcher Dylan Mulcahy
Previous school: Stephen F. Austin State University
Class for 2027: Senior
Stats: 23 games started, 108.1 innings pitched, 35 total appearances, 5-12 record, and a 6.90 ERA in three seasons at Stephen F. Austin.
7. Left-Handed Pitcher Chase Swift

Stats: Nine games started, 51.2 innings pitched, 29 total appearances, 2-4 record, and a 3.83 ERA in two seasons at Virginia Tech.
