Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez faces Antonio Vargas on June 13 for the WBC bantamweight title, with Bam aiming to become a three-division world champion airing live on DAZN.

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez will look to etch his name deeper into boxing history when he challenges Antonio Vargas for the WBC World Bantamweight title on June 13 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, live worldwide on DAZN.

At just 26 years old, Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez (23-0, 16 KOs) is aiming to become a three-division world champion, continuing a remarkable rise that has already seen him dominate multiple weight classes. Arizona has been a particularly meaningful stage for Rodriguez, who unified the flyweight division there with a stoppage victory over Sunny Edwards in December 2023. He also captured his first world title in Phoenix in 2022 by defeating Carlos Cuadras and returned in 2024 to stop Juan Francisco Estrada in another defining performance.

Rodriguez has built significant momentum with a string of stoppage wins, including victories over Pedro Guevara, Phumelele Cafu, and Fernando Martinez, collecting multiple belts along the way. Now, he sets his sights on yet another division.

“New weight class, same goals – dominate and pick up all the belts,” said Rodriguez. “On June 13, I look forward to becoming a three-division world champion.”

Standing in his way is Antonio Vargas (19-1-1, 11 KOs), a determined and battle-tested champion eager to prove he belongs among the sport’s elite. The 29-year-old has experienced a turbulent path to the top, including multiple rescheduled bouts and a hard-fought draw against Daigo Higa in Japan. Despite the setbacks, Vargas has twice been elevated to full champion status and now faces the biggest opportunity of his career.

“Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, and that’s exactly why I took this fight,” said Vargas. “These are the moments champions live for. I respect his skill, his IQ, everything he brings to the ring. I look forward to defending my title and proving I’m one of the best in this division.”

Vargas also emphasized the personal significance of the moment, adding, “I’ve worked my entire life to become a world champion, and I’m going to defend it with everything I have. I’m focused, I’m prepared, and everyone is going to see the best version of myself.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes the matchup is another standout addition to an already strong fight calendar.

“This is another fantastic fight for the best schedule in the sport,” said Hearn. “Jesse continues to chase greatness, and becoming a three-weight world champion at just 26 would be extraordinary. But Antonio is a very talented fighter who’s been waiting for a moment like this. There are few bigger challenges than facing Bam, and fans can expect fireworks on June 13.”

With championship stakes, contrasting styles, and legacy implications, the bout promises to deliver high drama in the Arizona desert as Rodriguez and Vargas collide in a pivotal showdown.
