Swerve TV, the Los Angeles–based free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) network, announced a multi-year partnership with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions Thursday morning that will bring an expansive lineup of premium boxing programming to audiences across the United States. The collaboration marks the apparent end to the Golden Boy's relationship with DAZN and is a significant step in Swerve TV’s continued push to build one of the most compelling combat sports destinations in the FAST ecosystem.
Through the agreement, Swerve TV gains access to Golden Boy Promotions’ extensive and celebrated fight library, featuring some of the most iconic bouts in modern boxing history. According to their release, fans will be able to relive legendary matchups starring global superstars such as Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Canelo Álvarez, Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins, and other champions who helped define eras of the sport.
Interestingly, the release mentioned two prominent fighters for Golden Boy that they says are still part of the future. Those names are Ryan Garcia and Vergil Ortiz. Garcia is set to battle Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in late February and there is an ongoing saga with Ortiz and De La Hoya outside of the ring, as Ortiz has sued Golden Boy in Nevada court saying they no longer have a promotional agreement.
Meanwhile, in the announcement, Golden Boy revealed that their content will begin airing this month on Swerve TV’s flagship combat sports channel, Swerve Combat. Anchoring the programming slate is a weekly franchise titled "Golden Boy Classics Fight Night," which will air every Thursday at 9:00 p.m. ET.
The series will showcase carefully curated classic bouts from Golden Boy’s archives, including the fighters above and offering longtime boxing enthusiasts a nostalgic look back at defining moments while introducing new fans to the fighters and rivalries that shaped the sport.
Further the release says the partnership extends into the development of new, original programming, as Swerve TV and Golden Boy Promotions plan to collaborate on live preliminary bouts for select tentpole events, original studio-based shows, athlete-focused features, and behind-the-scenes documentary content.
They say these initiatives are designed to go beyond the ring, blending premium fight coverage with cultural storytelling that highlights the athletes’ personal journeys, their communities, and the broader forces influencing boxing today.
However, the release doesn't include any details on whether Golden Boy will use Swerve TV and have their own production of live fight cards on a regular or semi-regular basis, as they have done the last few years on DAZN?
It would certainly be a blow to GBP if they no longer have their regular live fight card broadcasts, as they have had for the last few years.
The release continued with comments,
“This partnership further solidifies Swerve TV’s commitment to delivering one of the most diverse and dynamic portfolios of combat sports content,” said Steve Shannon, CEO of Swerve TV. “Golden Boy Promotions has a legacy of excellence in boxing, and together we’re creating innovative content that highlights the athletes, the culture, and the stories that drive the sport forward.”
As for De La Hoya, he echoed that sentiment, emphasizing accessibility and storytelling as central goals of the collaboration. “Golden Boy has always been about elevating the sport of boxing and telling the stories behind the fighters,” De La Hoya said. “Partnering with Swerve TV allows us to bring our historic fights and new content to an even broader audience through an accessible, free platform.”
Swerve Combat is currently distributed across major FAST platforms including Roku, Fubo TV, LG, Amazon Prime Video, Google TV, DirecTV, Sling, TiVo, and Hisense VIDAA. With additional platform distribution and international availability planned for the coming months, the partnership positions both companies to reach a growing global audience hungry for high-quality, free boxing content.
