Former WBO world lightweight champ Keyshawn Davis will return on May 16th in his hometown of Norfolk, VA, in the first ever Top Rank Boxing card to be streamed by DAZN.
Norfolk’s own rising star, Keyshawn Davis, is set to take center stage on Saturday, May 16, at Scope Arena, as Top Rank Boxing launches its first event on DAZN, featuring a heated rematch fueled by lingering tension and unfinished business.
The former WBO world champion and Olympic silver medalist Davis will square off against Nahir Albright in a 12-round super lightweight main event. Their first meeting in October 2023 ended in a majority decision win for Davis, though the result was later overturned due to a positive marijuana test against Davis, leaving the rivalry unresolved.
Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) enters the rematch at a pivotal point in his career. The 27-year-old captured world championship gold in just his 14th professional fight, stopping Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round to claim the WBO lightweight title in February 2025. However, his momentum was briefly derailed when a scheduled title defense against Edwin De Los Santos was canceled after Davis badly missed the 135 lb. weight. He rebounded in emphatic fashion in January, making a strong debut at 140 pounds by handing Jamaine Ortiz his first TKO loss
“Norfolk! I’m coming home with a purpose,” Keyshawn said. “Since my last fight, I’ve grown sharper, stronger, and more focused than ever. On May 16, you’re going to see the best version of Keyshawn Davis. ‘The Businessman’ is ready to handle business in front of my people! It means everything to be kicking off this new era for Top Rank on DAZN. I’m honored to lead the charge and show the world what this next chapter looks like. Norfolk, stand up—we’re putting on a show!”
Albright (17-2-1, 7 KOs), a gritty contender from Philadelphia, has taken the long road to this opportunity. After losing his professional debut in 2016, he rebounded with a 14-fight winning streak before suffering a setback against the same Ortiz in 2022. He rebuilt momentum with notable wins over Estivan Falcao and Carlos Balderas, and pushed Davis to a competitive bout in their first encounter. Since then, Albright has delivered standout performances, including handing Keyshawn's brother, Kelvin Davis his first loss and battling Frank Martin to a draw.
Albright said in the release,
“All my life I have been an overcomer. Starting from when I was a kid, I fought my way to this position, tough fight after tough fight. And I’m still standing tall. This fight is another obstacle to jump over. I’m ready and grateful.”
In the co-main event, former WBO world welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. returns in a 10-round clashagainst Canada’s Josh Wagner.
Norman (28-1, 22 KOs) also looks to reestablish himself following a strong title run. He captured the interim WBO welterweight title by stopping Giovani Santillan in 2024 and was later elevated to full champion after Terence Crawford vacated the belt. After successful defenses against Derrieck Cuevas and Jin Sasaki, he lost the title by decision to Devin Haney in late 2025.
Wagner (19-2, 10 KOs), is a seasoned 12-year professional, andenters the bout confident, with his only defeats coming against David Papot and Harlem Eubank.
With pride, redemption, and momentum on the line, May 16 promises an electric night of boxing in Norfolk.
