Mexican knockout artist Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza will defend his WBO featherweight world title against Ukrainian contender Arnold Khegai on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Arena Potosí in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Espinoza's promoter Top Rank Boxing announced his return in a bout that marks his first title defense on home soil and Khegai’s long-awaited world championship opportunity.

Espinoza (27-0, 23 KOs), the towering 6-foot-1 featherweight from Guadalajara, claimed the WBO title in December 2023 with a thrilling upset victory over Cuban star Robeisy Ramirez. Since then, he’s made three dominant defenses, including stoppages of Ramirez in their rematch and Edward Vazquez earlier this year. Known for his explosive power and relentless pressure, Espinoza is eager to perform in front of his Mexican fans.

“I’m happy and anxious to get back into the ring because it will be in my country, with my people,” Espinoza said. “Arnold Khegai is strong, but that’s motivating me to keep demonstrating that I am ready for big things.”

Khegai (23-2-1, 14 KOs), of Korean descent but based in Ukraine, brings a gritty, high-energy style. A former Muay Thai world champion, he has fought his way up the ranks since turning pro in 2015. After a narrow loss to Joet Gonzalez in March, Khegai rebounded with a victory over Liborio Solis. Now ranked No. 9 by the WBO, he vows to spoil Espinoza’s homecoming. “This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Khegai said. “I am coming to Mexico to ruin his homecoming.”

The co-main event will feature an all-Mexican showdown between Lindolfo Delgado (23-0, 16 KOs) and Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela (31-4-1, 17 KOs) in a 12-round IBF junior welterweight title eliminator. Delgado, one of Mexico’s rising stars, faces his toughest test yet in the veteran Valenzuela, who looks to reestablish himself as a world-level contender.

The undercard highlights Top Rank’s promising Mexican-American prospects. U.S. Olympic silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr. (13-0, 11 KOs) returns in a 10-round heavyweight bout against Czech brawler Tomas Salek (23-7, 14 KOs). Rising star Emiliano Fernando Vargas (15-0, 13 KOs) steps into his first scheduled 10-rounder against Jonathan Montrel (19-3, 13 KOs), while 17-year-old sensation Julian “El Natural” Montalvo (4-0, 3 KOs) seeks his third win of 2025 in a six-round junior lightweight bout.

“Rafael Espinoza is a unique talent—a dominant force—but Khegai will be a formidable test,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “San Luis Potosí is a great fight town, and fans will see several future world champions in action.”

Espinoza vs. Khegai promises to be a fiery night of world-class boxing, celebrating Mexico’s proud fighting tradition.
