Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather exhibition postponed to Fall 2026 after Tyson suffers hand injury during training.

The highly anticipated exhibition clash between boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has officially been postponed until Fall 2026 after Tyson suffered a broken hand during training camp.

Originally scheduled for May 30, the “Legend vs. Legend” event was expected to draw massive global attention as two of the biggest names in boxing history prepared to meet in a special exhibition bout. Tyson was recently seen wearing a cast while continuing his recovery, with organizers confirming that the postponement is temporary and that a new date and venue will be announced soon.

The exhibition will stream through FIGHT SPORTS as part of CSI Sports’ growing lineup of marquee combat sports events.

Tyson, one of the most intimidating heavyweight champions the sport has ever seen, became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at age 20 after knocking out Trevor Berbick in 1986. During his prime, Tyson dominated the heavyweight division with devastating knockout victories over stars such as Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks and Frank Bruno. Tyson retired with a professional record of 50-6 and 44 knockouts, becoming one of boxing’s most recognizable cultural icons.

In recent years, Tyson has successfully returned to the spotlight through exhibition boxing. His 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. generated major pay-per-view numbers, while his recent crossover exhibition with Jake Paul introduced Tyson to a younger generation of fans and proved his continued drawing power. Even though that fight was tamed, it was still a spectacle. Of course Paul would have his jaw broken by Anthony Joshua, in a more recent exhibition of this type, but that's a whole other storyline.

Mayweather, meanwhile, retired undefeated at 50-0 and is widely considered one of the greatest defensive fighters in boxing history. Across five weight classes, he captured world championships while defeating elite opponents including Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao in one of the highest-grossing fights ever staged.

Although Mayweather officially retired years ago, he has remained active through lucrative exhibitions around the world. Now that this exhibition is moving to the Fall what does this mean about the future rematch or exhibition with Manny Pacquiao? That fight already had a date and venue change and some people are speculating if that fight even happens in 2026 or ever at all.

The Tyson-Mayweather matchup represents a rare crossover between two icons from different eras and styles. Tyson’s explosive knockout power and aggressive approach contrast sharply with Mayweather’s technical precision and defensive mastery, making the event one of the most talked-about exhibitions in modern boxing.

Organizers remain confident the bout will still take place later this year once Tyson completes his recovery.
