It's not getting the same amount of coverage and hype as the top two fights on the card, but the three belt junior bantamweight title fight between Jesse "Bam" Rodiguez and Fernando Martinez could be action packed.

Coming up Saturday night from Saudi Arabia, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez and  Fernando Martinez will battle for the unified WBC/WBO/WBA junior bantamweight titles on the "Ring IV- Night of Champions" pay per view card. Their battle will be part of the championship undercard to the David Benavidez WBC light heavyweight title defense against Anthony Yarde.

As Rodriguez readies for his latest title challenge, he spoke to the media from Riyadh Thursday, first, about the challenge of the bout,

“Just tune in to DAZN on Saturday night,” said Rodríguez. “You’ll see. You’ll see that why Eddie Hearn just said what he said about me. I’m a special fighter. I’m going to go out there and prove that to everyone once again. This is just going to be another fantastic performance from myself and I’m just ready to go out there and get the job done.”

Rodriguez has won eight straight world title bouts in the flyweight and junior bantamweight divisions. Four of them by KO, including his 10th round stoppage of Phumelela Cafu to take his WBA 115 lb. belt back in July.

Meanwhile, away from the ring, a sub-plot to this bout developed when "Bam" left his home in Texas with his wife due to give berth anytime. And, she ended up delivering their baby boy on Wednesday afternoon in the U.S., while Rodriguez watched on video conferencing.

    He reflected on this development,

“We knew the date would fall close,” Rodriguez stated. “But everything went just as planned. And honestly…it’s more fuel. More motivation. It’s all for him (the newborn). My daughter and my son—this is who I fight for. Saturday night, I’m coming out victorious, and I’m taking those belts back to both of them.”

Meanwhile, Martinez, who is a decided underdog despite being unbeaten and holding a portion of the 115 lb. titles himself, was equally confident Thursday,

“Just tune in Saturday night,” he said with a calm smile as he walked toward the lights. “You’ll see why people call me special. I’m going to prove it again. Another fantastic performance—just watch.”

The 34 year old Argentinian won two huge fights over Japan's Kaz Ioka in his last two bouts by decision. The second one coming in their immediate rematch in May. But, this will clearly be the best and hardest punching fighter he's been in the ring with in his career.

While it isn't getting the same level of attention as the Benavidez-Yarde main event or even, the Norman-Haney welterweight title, co-feature, this bout may end up stealing the whole show.
