Lando Norris’s Best F1 Races Ranked: His Greatest Drives So Far
Sep 2, 2026 11:29 AM
These past few weeks have been glorious for McLaren driver and reigning World Champion Lando Norris.
Just before the summer break, Norris won a race for the first time this season, crossing the checkered flag first in the Hungary Grand Prix. Then, when Formula One returned after the break, the British driver won again at Circuit Zandvoort.
As if that's not enough, McLaren recently extended Norris's contract, keeping him with the team through 2030.
And why wouldn't they? Norris gave McLaren their first Drivers' Championship since Lewis Hamilton's in 2008.
At 26 years of age, Norris has already given McLaren tons of memorable races, including these top five drives.
5. P3, 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Norris didn't have to win this race for it to be legendary. Even with Red Bull's Max Verstappen dominating the race, Norris's third-place finish clinched his first-ever F1 title. He held off Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, managed a two-stop strategy, and became the first British champion since Hamilton in 2020.
4. P1, 2025 British Grand Prix
Nothing beats winning your home race for the first time. Norris delivered an inspired victory on home soil in Silverstone, finishing ahead of McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri by almost seven seconds. Verstappen finished way behind in fifth, giving Norris a strong boost to his championship run.
3. P1, 2025 Monaco Grand Prix
They say that Monaco is the crown jewel of F1, and every driver wants to win there. Norris achieved his first Monaco victory in 2025, topping qualifying and eventually winning on Sunday. He managed the required two-stop strategy and didn't buckle under pressure from Leclerc, the Monegasque driver.
2. P1, 2024 Dutch Grand Prix
It was in Zandvoort that Norris announced to the world that he is a championship-caliber driver. With Verstappen winning the Dutch GP three consecutive times, the home crowd was fully behind the Red Bull driver. Norris started from pole but lost the lead to Verstappen at the start. But Norris patiently hunted Verstappen down, using McLaren's superior race pace to obliterate his opposition by almost 23 seconds.
1. P1, 2024 Miami Grand Prix
After 110 races, Norris was still without an F1 victory. Until the train stopped at Miami. He qualified fifth, but stayed within touch and took advantage of a well-timed Safety Car in the latter stages. He was able to hold off Verstappen, pulling away by almost eight seconds to capture his first F1 victory.
