What happened throughout F1 Academy’s third season

    What is F1 Academy?

F1 Academy is an all female racing series created to promote female involvement in motorsport, especially F1. It was created to provide women with a platform to advance to other levels of the sport, which is typically male-dominated.

Drivers, ages 16-25, compete in cars identical to Formula 4 cars on F1 weekends to gain experience and exposure. It is a spec series, meaning all of the cars are the same. They all use the Tatuus T421 chassis, powered by a Autotecnica engine. Having it be a spec series allows for the drivers talent to be on show instead of it being a joint driver-engineer endeavor.

F1 Academy uses a 3-day format with practice, one 30 minute qualifying session, and two 30 minute races. For race 1, the starting order is the reverse of the top 8 qualifiers, and race 2 uses the standard order. The top 8 finishers are awarded points in race 1 and the top 10 get points in race 2, as well as bonus points for pole position and fastest lap.

    Rounds 1-7

Round 1 was held at the Shanghai International Circuit, with Alisha Palmowski winning race 1 and Doriane Pin winning race 2. Maya Weug was on pole position and Chloe Chambers and Doriane Pin were awarded fastest lap points. Race 2 began with two formation laps and a rolling start due to an oil spill on track, later Pin was able to overtake Weug for the win and to be ahead in the championship.

Round 2 was held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with Ella Lloyd winning race 1 and Maya Weug winning race 2. Chloe Chambers was on pole position and Chloe Chambers and Doriane Pin were awarded fastest lap points. After both races Weug found herself ahead of Pin in the championship, with Chloe Chambers still in third.

Round 3 was held at the Miami International Autodrome, but here race 2 was cancelled due to wet weather conditions and was moved to be a third race at the next round. Doriane Pin won race 1 and was awarded the fastest lap point. The championship order remained the same, but with Weug just one point ahead of Pin.

Round 4 was held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the already set from Miami, Chole Chambers started on pole, but Doriane Pin got the win for race 1 (race 2 of Miami). Emma Felbermayr won race 2 (race 1 of Canada) and Doriane Pin won race 3 (race 2 of Canada). Chloe Chambers was also on pole in Canada and received two of the fastest lap points, while Pin won the third.

Round 5 was held at the Circuit Zandvoort, with Nina Gademan winning race 1 and Maya Weug winning race 2. Maya Weug was on pole position and was awarded both fastest lap points. They left the weekend with Pin having a 20 point lead over Weug (gained in the past rounds).

Round 6 was held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, with Lia Block winning race 1 and Weug winning race 2. Maya Weug was on pole position and Doriane Pin took both fastest lap points. At the end of the weekend Weug brought down the lead Pin had over her to 9 points and Lloyd had brought herself into third over Chambers

Round 7, the last round, was held at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, with Pini winning race 1 and Chambers winning race 2. Chambers  was on pole position and she and Pin were awarded fastest lap points. Pin managed to keep her lead over Weug in the championship, becoming the 2025 F1 Academy champion, with Weug in second and Chambers in third.
