Here are the reported upgrades that each F1 team will bring to the Sepang International Circuit.

Seven out of the 11 teams have brought upgrades to the 2026 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. The most interesting upgrade package comes from the championship leaders, Mercedes, who brought seven performance updates to Sepang.

The Silver Arrows, or more like the Teal Arrows thanks to their new Petronas-inspired livery, are looking like the early favorites here in Malaysia.

Mercedes - 538 championship points

As if winning the last three races isn't enough, Mercedes is upping the ante with seven performance upgrades at Sepang. That's a scary thought for the rest of the grid, especially since Mercedes is coming off a dominant weekend at Baku where they didn't even bring any upgrades.

  • Reprofiled horizontal elements and additional vertical slotted upper element for local load (performance-related)
  • Reprofiled and added down-washing elements for flow conditioning (performance-related)
  • Additional slots and reprofiled elements on floor corner for flow conditioning (performance-related)
  • Reprofiled diffuser roof, sidewall, and winglet for local load (performance-related)
  • Reprofiled suspension fairings for local load (performance-related)
  • Changes in rear winglet span and position for local load (performance-related)
  • Reduced volume and increased sideview ramp on rear bodywork for flow conditioning (performance-related)

Ferrari - 378 points

Ferrari has introduced one update to the diffuser in an attempt to improve the aerodynamic performance of the SF-26. The Scuderia is fresh off a productive weekend where Charles Leclerc finished P4, and Lewis Hamilton crossed the line in P6. They'd surely want more out of their car on this proper race track at Sepang.

  • Development of a diffuser outboard winglet cascade element for local load (performance-related)

McLaren - 306 points

After an extensive upgrade package at Baku, McLaren is toning it down in Malaysia. They're bringing one circuit-specific upgrade, which is focused on helping their car cope with the extreme heat at Sepang. After all, this race has been declared a Heat Hazard.

  • High cooling bodywork for cooling range (circuit-specific)

Red Bull - 263 points

The last race here at Sepang was won by none other than Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Red Bull won't get caught up by historical results, but Verstappen has also finished P2 in the last two races. His first win of 2026 could be coming soon.

  • Revised floor board geometry for local load (performance-related)

Racing Bulls - 83 points

The Racing Bulls are the other team besides Mercedes to bring multiple declared updates. With one performance-related upgrade and another circuit-specific update, they're aiming to increase their 15-point midfield lead over Alpine.

  • New front flap for balance range (circuit-specific)
  • Revised rear wing auxiliary components for local load (performance-related)

Alpine - 68 points

Pierre Gasly has already forgiven Franco Colapinto for the teammate-to-teammate mishap at Baku, so all is well now. The bad news: that incident set them back in the midfield, and they're now trailing the fifth-place Racing Bulls by 15 points.

  • Revised front drum exit for brake cooling (performance-related)

Haas - 27 points

Fresh off a double-points finish at Baku, Haas is building on its momentum with a rear-end-focused aerodynamic upgrade at Sepang. They would love to increase the gap over Audi, their closest midfield rival, even more.

  • Updated rear impact structure geometry for local load (performance-related)

Audi - 17 points

Audi is not bringing any upgrades to Sepang.

Williams - 12 points

Williams is not bringing any upgrades to Sepang.

Aston Martin - 3 points

Aston Martin is not bringing any upgrades to Sepang.

Cadillac - no points
