Track Details
The Belgian Grand Prix is held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and has been held since 1950. It is the longest track on the F1 calendar at 4.352 miles (7km) and only 44 laps. Spa is known for its high-speed corners and extreme elevation changes. It also has a very unpredictable climate due to its vast size, causing drivers to experience dry and wet conditions in the same lap, leading to challenges in tyre strategy.
Drivers go straight into a tight hairpin at Turn 1, La Source, which leads straight into a downhill straight. Turns 2-4, Eau Rouge and Raidillon, is one of the most famous turn sequences in motorsport where drivers take a blind left-right-left turn while going uphill at extreme speeds.
Turns 10 and 11 at Pouhon are another challenging, high-speed pair where drivers take a double left. Turns 18 and 19 are a different kind of challenge, with it being a heavy braking zone and a switchback chicane.
Spa is an iconic track for many reasons, with dynamic racing being a major one! With unpredictable weather, high-speed turns, and the steep Radillon hill-climb, this weekend will not disappoint.
