After three weeks of mandatory shutdown and strategic reshuffling, the grid descends on Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix as Mercedes battles to defend their championship lead.

The Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring marks the end of the final weekend before the Formula 1 summer break. This period will see teams and drivers completely and mandatorily halt their activities for three weeks before resuming for the second half of the season.

This period is crucial for teams to make important decisions, such as driver replacements, potential promotions, and the development direction they might take for the remainder of the season. Some teams that have struggled in 2026, like Williams and Carlos Sainz, might decide to abandon upgrades for their current car and instead focus their development and financial resources on 2027.

Therefore, many will be wondering when the next F1 race is amidst the fierce battle for the Constructors' and Drivers' Championships. The next round of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship, the 12th race, is the Dutch Grand Prix on August 23 at the Zandvoort circuit.

This is a special race, as it's Max Verstappen's home race and often provides great images of the fans known as the "orange army" in the stands. The action begins on Friday, August 21, with the first and second free practice sessions, followed by FP3 and qualifying on Saturday, August 22.

Therefore, it will be a wait of approximately three weeks before we can see Lewis Hamilton's pursuit of Kimi Antonelli in the 2026 F1 Drivers' Championship again, as well as Mercedes' defense of their lead in the Constructors' Championship with Ferrari and McLaren threatening their position in the coming weeks.

What is the remaining calendar for the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship?

The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were not held this season due to security concerns related to ongoing geopolitical conflicts in the region. The Bahrain race was announced to be replaced by the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang on October 4th; however, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix remains uncertain, pending rescheduling, replacement with a race at another circuit, or outright cancellation, awaiting further official information from Formula 1 or the FIA.
