More teams are dissecting their performance at Monza, especially with the Spanish Grand Prix coming up.

It has been a couple of days since Kimi Antonelli won the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. And yet, teams around the F1 paddock are still analyzing what went wrong (and right) for them at the Temple of Speed.

It's not a surprise, though. We had so much going on during the Italian GP that it's perfectly reasonable to talk about it days after.

McLaren explains hectic Monza weekend

After a disappointing performance in the qualifying sessions, McLaren gave their fans a better show on Sunday. Reigning World Champion Lando Norris finished fourth, just a spot ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri.

But the McLaren garage had a huge scare when Norris and Piastri came to blows in the latter stages of the race. Norris found himself on the grass at the exit of Curva Grande, but he still managed to come back and overtake Piastri in the final lap.

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella had nothing negative to say about the battle between his two drivers. Instead, he applauded his team's resiliency in bouncing back from a difficult Saturday to a more productive Sunday.

Hadjar officially sits out at Madrid

As expected, Red Bull Racing has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will miss his third straight race weekend. Liam Lawson will continue to drive for Red Bull's main team at the Spanish Grand Prix, while reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda stays on with the Racing Bulls.

Lawson is coming off a difficult Monza race, where he lost important time due to front-wing damage. Meanwhile, Tsunoda, who was just in his second race this season, came through with his first points in 2026.

Red Bull having fun at their ADUO demise

Instead of sulking in the corner, the Red Bull social team is having fun referencing their Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities (ADUO) ranking. Here's one of their tweets, if you need a bit of a laugh to start your day.

Red Bull-Ford Powertrains, in their first year as the team's engine manufacturer, was found to have the best Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) in the F1 grid. It's a good testament to their work, but under the ADUO rules, it also left them without an additional opportunity to upgrade their engine.

Mekies reflects on Red Bull's podium finish

Despite Max Verstappen's complaints about their straight-line speed, Red Bull still gained some ground with a P3 finish. They were able to stay ahead of the likes of McLaren and Ferrari, two teams that were expected to strongly contend for the podium places at Monza.

Mekies said that they're in the "right direction," but they won't be satisfied until they find the "ultimate speed" they're looking for. Let's see if Verstappen and Liam Lawson can extract more pace at the Madring.
