Here are the reported upgrades that each F1 team will bring to Madrid.

As we have expected, not a lot of teams are bringing significant upgrade packages to the 2026 F1 Spanish Grand Prix. After all, this is a new race, and the teams will be more focused on understanding the track and getting their setup right.

In fact, only six teams have presented car updates this weekend, according to the FIA. The four front-running teams are also introducing only a handful of upgrades. Take a look at the list below.

Mercedes - 468 championship points

Of the top four teams, Mercedes are bringing the most number of upgrades at the new Madring circuit. The championship leaders have delivered three updates; one is performance-related, while the other two are circuit-specific.

  • Reprofiled front lip for flow conditioning (performance-related)
  • Added another winglet behind the exhaust for drag range (circuit-specific)
  • Reduced the span of the rear wing central winglet for drag range (circuit-specific)

Ferrari - 346 points

Coming off a weekend where they brought a significant upgrade package at Monza, Ferrari will only have one upgrade at Madrid. They're mostly relying on their car's current specifications this weekend.

  • Reprofiling of rear top wishbone rearward leg fairing for local load (performance-related)

McLaren - 287 points

Same with Ferrari, McLaren has only delivered one performance-related upgrade for the Spanish GP. The Papaya squad are aiming to get back on the podium at Madrid.

  • Adding rear wing furniture for flow conditioning (performance-related)

Red Bull - 204 points

Red Bull is bringing a couple of upgrades this weekend, both of them to improve the car's reliability. It has been an issue for Red Bull recently, with Max Verstappen suffering through two DNFs in the last six races.

Racing Bulls - 75 points

The Racing Bulls are not bringing any upgrades to Madrid.

Alpine - 62 points

Alpine grabbed eight important midfield points in Monza, helping them stay in touch with the Racing Bulls. They want to keep their momentum going at Madrid, starting with a performance-related upgrade.
