The Dutchman said there is no news about his continuity at Red Bull and that if something changes, he will announce it himself.

Max Verstappen has avoided talking about his future at Red Bull and has assured that there is no news about his continuity beyond the 2026 season. The Dutchman arrived at the Belgian Grand Prix with the intention of focusing on the work the team is doing to improve the RB22: "I don't want to say yes and no and this and that about my future. I've said many times that if there were something new, I would say it myself" declared Verstappen.

The four-time world champion has been linked with a possible move to McLaren, but has insisted there is nothing to say about it. Verstappen preferred to focus on the work being done behind the scenes to ensure that problems like the one that ended his race at Silverstone do not happen again: "Now we are looking to the future, trying to solve the current problems we have with the car, but that's an open discussion," he explained.

The Dutchman acknowledged that he sometimes feels disappointed or angry after a race, but that he always recovers: "Yes, sometimes you feel a bit disappointed or angry after a race but for example after Silverstone you go home and you reset. On Wednesday I was back at the factory and you get ready again for the upcoming weekends. That's how I've operated for all these years" he stated.

Verstappen also referred to the team's dynamics and personnel changes: "People come and go, I think sometimes it's also part of the process, sometimes you want people to potentially stay, but I think that's life, that's sport. You just have to move on, try to find new talents. That's what you look at all the time and that's what we do"  he declared.

Although Verstappen has not yet confirmed his long term plans, one possible path for his future is working with young drivers. He recently signed Dries Van Langendonck, who is part of McLaren's development program for his own racing team, with the aim of supporting the 15 year old's journey towards F1: "Dries has been a great talent for a long time in karting and I think you can quickly spot when someone is a bit more special than another. It's an exciting project to be part of" said Verstappen.

The Dutchman remains focused on Red Bull and on improving the RB22, but his long-term future remains uncertain. Speculation will continue until Verstappen makes a definitive decision.
