The Haas driver reiterated that his goal remains the Scuderia, but acknowledged that Hamilton's successful run could delay his arrival: "I don't want to wait three, four or five years," he declared.

Oliver Bearman has made it clear that his goal remains to drive for Ferrari, but has warned that he cannot afford to wait too long for an opportunity that may never come. The 21 year old British Haas driver has been part of the Scuderia's academy since 2022 and made his debut with the Italian team at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he replaced Carlos Sainz and scored points with a seventh place. However, the presence of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton's resurgence at the Scuderia could delay his arrival.

"Things have changed a lot in the last six months. As an F1 fan and a Lewis fan, it's great to see him performing at the level he is, although in terms of my future, it's not ideal, but I'm still young. I'm just on the team, there's a lot to learn. I really want to get back to those moments of success we tasted in Mexico and other events" declared Bearman on the Beyond The Grid podcast, where the Briton acknowledged that he is in no rush and that staying at Haas is not a bad thing.

Bearman began his second season in F1 strongly, scoring points in the first two rounds, including a fifth place in China. However, results have been harder to come by since then, although the Briton remains ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon in the drivers' championship.

Asked if he would consider moving away from the Ferrari family, Bearman was clear: "Of course, I'm very committed to what Ferrari has offered me, they've supported me from the start, on one hand I owe a lot to Ferrari, for me it's the dream team, not just because I'm part of Ferrari but because it's the most iconic brand in the world. My goal remains to be a Ferrari driver someday" he stated.

The Briton made it clear that he cannot wait indefinitely: "Of course I don't want to be waiting three, four or five years for a seat to become available because there are no guarantees and then you could be wasting your best years" he warned.

Bearman was blunt about his ultimate goal: "My ultimate goal is perhaps a bit selfish and that's okay because that's the reason I'm here and it's because I want to fight for world championships, so if I can have that opportunity anywhere, I'll take it" he stated.

Bearman also reflected on Haas's current moment: "It's a tough time and it's really a challenge and one that builds character I would say, but I don't want to be defined as the team that had a very good first year with me but then we really struggled to get that performance again. So hopefully we can get a bit more performance and score some good points again" he explained.

The British driver concluded that although his dream is Ferrari, he is open to other options: "If that means it's not with Ferrari because they can't offer me that position, then that's life, that's not up to me, of course I want to fight for wins, for championships and with any team that believes that's possible, I'm happy to take the step with them" Bearman stated.

Bearman's situation is complex. Ferrari has Leclerc and Hamilton secured for the immediate future, and the Briton will have to wait for his chance or seek an alternative path to fulfill his dream of being world champion.
