The Austrian team confirms the long-term renewal of its team boss after the team's resurgence in 2026.

Red Bull has bet on continuity. The Austrian team has confirmed Laurent Mekies's renewal as CEO and team boss through the 2031 season, a long-term agreement that reinforces the stability of the Milton Keynes team at a key moment in its history. The news comes after 2026, when Red Bull went from far behind its rivals to securing consecutive victories with Max Verstappen in Malaysia and Singapore.

Mekies, a French engineer who was promoted from Racing Bulls in July 2025, has been the architect of the team's reconstruction. His leadership has allowed Red Bull to overcome a complicated start to the season under the new regulations and return to the path to victory. His contract renewal, along with those of Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, was confirmed in recent months and guarantees continuity in the project in the coming years.

"I am incredibly proud to continue this journey with Oracle Red Bull Racing, and I would like to thank Chalerm, Mark and Oliver, the whole team and everyone involved for the trust they have placed in the project," Mekies declared upon learning of the news. The Frenchman highlighted the team's unity: "What makes this team special is the way everyone comes together in pursuit of the same objective, and I feel privileged to work alongside such a talented and committed group every day," he added.

Mekies also wanted to acknowledge the role of Pierre Wache and Ben Hodgkinson's teams, who play a central role in shaping the team's future: "Together we have a solid platform for the coming years, and we sincerely believe that this is only the beginning, as we look forward, we will continue to embrace the principles that define us: to be free in our thinking, fast in our actions, and bold in our decisions," he stated.

Red Bull's shareholders, Chalerm Yoovidhya and Mark Mateschitz, also spoke about the renewal: "The strength of Red Bull has always come from its people, and from creating an environment where talented individuals can achieve extraordinary things together. Laurent has played a crucial role in guiding the team through an important transition, maintaining the competitive spirit and Red Bull principles that define us. This extension reflects our confidence in his leadership and our shared belief in the team's long-term vision," they noted.

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments at Red Bull, highlighted Mekies's qualities: "He has demonstrated outstanding leadership since he returned to the Red Bull family. He combines technical experience, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of what makes our team successful. Continuity in leadership is a key ingredient for sustained success, and we are delighted that Laurent continues leading the team in the next chapter of our journey," he concluded.

Red Bull faces the future with confidence, backed by a solid project and stable leadership, as it fights for more victories and championships in the coming years. With Mekies at the helm for many more years and the hope of keeping Max at the team, there's reason to be excited.
