Starting with the 2025 Constructors Champions, McLaren’s drivers are both on multi year deals. Oscar Piastri is currently on a multi year deal through at least 2027 after resigning with the team in his rookie season in 2023. Lando Norris is on a multi year deal through at least 2026, but could be longer.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is on a multi year deal with an unknown end date and options giving both sides flexibility which was signed early on in 2024. Lewis Hamilton, who only joined the team this season, is also on a multi year deal which is thought to run through 2027 but that is unconfirmed.
With Mercedes, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli’s contracts were both going to be up at the end of the 2025 season, but they have both been re-signed through at least 2026. Antonelli was on a one year deal for his rookie season, but given his performance, it isn’t surprising that he was re-signed.
Now for Redbull, Max Verstappen has a contract that runs through 2028, but does have performance based exit clauses for him that could allow him to exit the team sooner. One example of these clauses is if he drops from one of the top three spots of the World Drivers Championship, then he could activate the clause and move teams. There were rumors of him possibly activating this clause earlier this season, but Verstappen confirmed that he would be remaining with the team for 2026. Yuki Tsunoda’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2025 season, so his future in F1 is currently uncertain.
VCARB currently has both of their drivers on one year contracts set to expire at the end of this season. It is likely to see both Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar on the grid next year as their performances have been very good. See the article 2026 Grid Confirmations and Predictions for more on the future of the Redbull and VCARB drivers.
Williams signed or renewed their drivers contracts just last season. Alex Albon is on a multi year deal through at least 2026 after joining the team in 2022. Carlos Sainz is also on a multi year deal through at least 2026 after making the switch to Williams from Ferrari starting this season.
Fernando Alonso is on a multi year deal until at least 2026 which he signed to in 2024 when he last contract was set to expire. If rumors are to be trusted, 2026 could be Alonso’s last season in F1 after returning to the sport in 2021 following his 2018 retirement. Lance Stroll had a contract extension in 2024. Because Aston Martin is his fathers team he is likely to stay there so long as his father is there and he wants to be there.
Haas’ drivers are both on multi-year deals for unknown amounts of time. Both drivers joined the team this year with Oliver Bearman participating in his first F1 season and Esteban moving to the team from Alpine this year.
Sauber also has their drivers on multi year deals. Nico Hulkenberg just moved to the team this season and there are no reports of when his contract ends. Gabriel Bortoleto is competing in his first season in F1 and it is said that his contract runs through at least 2026.
Last is Alpine, who are kind of an odd one out. Pierre Gasly is the veteran of the team and has a multi year deal until at least 2028. Franco Colapinto is a rookie and the oddity comes in his contract. Colapinto is on a race by race contract, so basically he can be replaced at any point in time. This isn’t the first contract of this kind that we have seen Alpine use. Earlier this season Jack Doohan was the second driver for the French team, but he was dropped and replaced with Colapinto after just a few races due to poor performance.
