MIAMI, Fla. — Indiana's dream season has come to the end of the road, with just one more hurdle to jump over on its way to the school's first-ever football national championship. All that's left is beating the Miami Hurricanes on Monday night at hard Rock Stadium, the Canes' home field.
The 15-0 Hoosiers are favored by 7.5 points on Monday night. That's where the line started after Indiana crushed Oregon 56-22 on Jan. 9 in Atlanta to reach the final. Miami was ranked as high as No. 2 in the country before regular season losses to unranked Louisville and SMU. But here's a number that's worth paying attention to: The Hurricanes are 3-0 straight-up as an underdog this season, including two playoff games, where they upset Texas A&M in the first round and No. 2 seed Ohio State in the quarterfinals at the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve.
