Scottie Scheffler leads 2026 Masters odds, but Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm headline a crowded Augusta field with serious questions entering Thursday.
The 2026 Masters is almost here, and Scottie Scheffler enters Augusta National as the betting favorite according to many betting outlets, including CBSSports.
That alone isn’t surprising. Scheffler has already won two green jackets, claimed the 2025 PGA Championship and Open Championship, and posted top-10 finishes in each of his last four Masters appearances.
But as Masters week begins, the bigger story may be whether anyone in this loaded field is truly peaking at the right time.
Scheffler sits atop the board at +550, yet his recent form has introduced some doubt. After opening 2026 with a win and back-to-back top-five finishes, the world No. 1 has cooled off.
He finished outside the top 10 in one start, missed the top 20 in his next two, and then withdrew from the Houston Open. For a player who usually looks automatic, that’s enough to invite questions.
Rory McIlroy is trying to do something only three golfers have done before him ... win the Masters in consecutive years. He’s listed at +1100, and his ball-striking numbers still jump off the page.
McIlroy ranks inside the top five in strokes gained total, tee-to-green and off-the-tee, but the putter has been a problem. He’s outside the top 100 in strokes gained putting, which is not the profile you want carrying into Augusta’s slick greens.
LIV Golf's Jon Rahm, another former champion, remains one of the biggest names in the field at +1000.
Still, his recent Masters results have been uneven since winning in 2023, and his major form overall hasn’t been especially sharp.
Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Åberg also arrive with legitimate contender status, while first-timers Chris Gotterup and Ben Griffin will try to do something almost no one has done and win in their Augusta debut.
With Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson both absent, the spotlight feels even brighter on the top of the board. Scheffler may be the favorite, but this Masters looks far more open than the odds suggest.
