The PGA Tour’s FedExCup Fall continues in Japan as Xander Schauffele defends his Baycurrent Classic title at Yokohama Country Club.

The 2026 Baycurrent Classic takes center stage this week as the PGA Tour brings one of the strongest fields of the FedExCup Fall to Yokohama Country Club.

The 72-player field includes 16 of the world’s top 50 golfers, headlined by defending champion Xander Schauffele.

He returns after winning last year’s event at 19-under, and the field around him is deep enough to make this one of the more compelling fall stops.

The Baycurrent Classic is the third of eight FedExCup Fall events, and there’s plenty at stake.

Players are still fighting to finish inside the top 100 in the FedExCup standings to secure PGA Tour status for 2027, while tournament winners also gain valuable future exemptions.

The course itself should be part of the story.

Yokohama Country Club plays to 7,322 yards as a par 71 and uses a unique routing that combines 16 holes from the West Course with two from the East.

The club opened in 1960 and underwent a major redesign in 2015 by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.

That redesign created a layout that rewards control more than brute force.

The course features 13 par 4s, just two par 5s and several demanding approach shots, meaning ball-striking and positioning should matter all week.

“It’s a golf course where you have to be in control,” is essentially the challenge players face here. Miss in the wrong spots, and birdie chances disappear quickly.

Schauffele won’t be alone among the headliners. Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott and Sungjae Im are also in the field.

Conditions could add another wrinkle. The forecast calls for mild temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s, with limited rain chances but stronger winds expected Friday and Saturday.

For fans in the United States, Golf Channel will carry live coverage Wednesday through Saturday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. ET.

The setting may be overseas, but the stakes are very much PGA Tour-sized.
