Ben James, Jacob Bridgeman and Rasmus Højgaard headline the best bets as the PGA Tour opens its FedExCup Fall at a brand-new Asheville venue this week.
The Biltmore Championship Asheville brings PGA Tour golf to unfamiliar territory this week, creating an intriguing betting board at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
With no tournament history to study on the 7,249-yard, par-71 course, bettors must lean more heavily on current form, ball-striking and each player’s motivation entering the FedExCup Fall.
Ben James is one of the most compelling outright selections at +2450. The 22-year-old announced himself as a contender with a third-place finish at the Wyndham Championship, shooting 18 under.
Golfbet’s Will Gray called James one of the next “names to know,” and Asheville could provide another opportunity for the former University of Virginia star to accelerate his rise.
Jacob Bridgeman carries the shortest odds among the featured expert picks at +1850. He enters the fall after winning The Genesis Invitational and tying for fourth at the TOUR Championship.
Bridgeman’s consistency and reliable ball-striking also earned him a captain’s pick for the U.S. Presidents Cup team.
Rasmus Højgaard offers more value at +3300. Chris Breece described the Dane as a “sleeping giant,” and his summer peak supports that argument.
Højgaard finished fourth at the Rocket Classic after tying the Detroit Golf Club course record with a third-round 61.
J.T. Poston is another outright option at +3200. The North Carolina native played college golf at Western Carolina and should enjoy substantial local support less than an hour from campus.
Familiar surroundings don’t guarantee success, but Poston’s experience makes him an appealing choice in a field facing an entirely new test.
The prop markets provide additional opportunities. Pierceson Coody is listed at -115 in a head-to-head matchup with Kevin Roy after recording 11 top-25 finishes across 25 starts.
Ryo Hisatsune, a first-time International Presidents Cup selection, is available at +365 as the top Asian finisher and +315 for a top-10 finish.
Other notable plays include Rico Hoey at +205 for a top 20 and Davis Riley at +550 in the same market.
Riley finished third at the Rocket Classic, while Hoey’s steady ball-striking could translate well to an unfamiliar venue.
For longer odds, Brendan Valdes is +128 to make the cut. A combined top-20 finish from Presidents Cup teammates Jackson Koivun and Bridgeman pays +700.
With limited course data and a wide-open field, the Biltmore Championship may reward selective wagers more than heavy exposure. Odds can move before Thursday’s opening round.
