Bryson DeChambeau blew up on the 18th hole and missed the Masters cut, while Jon Rahm and Brian Harman fought through Augusta chaos to survive.

Bryson DeChambeau at the Masters went from shaky to brutal in a hurry Friday at Augusta National.

The LIV star entered the second round already chasing the cut line, and for a moment, it looked like he’d done just enough to hang around for the weekend. Then came the 18th hole, and everything unraveled.

DeChambeau reached the final tee sitting at 3-over par, meaning a bogey would be enough to squeeze into the weekend.

Instead, he made a crushing triple bogey 7 after a wild drive into the trees, which set off a full collapse. He punched out, found the bunker, failed to escape cleanly on his first try, then watched the hole spiral completely out of control.

Just like that, one of the pre-tournament favorites was headed home early.

It was the kind of finish that sums up how nasty Augusta can get when confidence starts leaking. DeChambeau had already taken damage the day before with another triple bogey, and the margin for error was gone.

By the time he walked off the green, so were his Masters hopes.

Not everyone on the wrong side of the leaderboard folded. Jon Rahm, the 2023 champion, started the day buried at 6-over but clawed his way back just enough to survive.

He finished at 4-over, right on the number, and bought himself two more rounds.

Brian Harman authored one of the grittiest rallies of the day. At one point, he was sitting at 10-over, which usually means you’re just counting down holes until the flight home.

Instead, he went on a tear, stacking seven birdies the rest of the way and battling all the way back to the cut line.

Then there was Akshay Bhatia, who gave fans a flash of hope late before giving it right back with a double bogey on 18.

That was the story Friday at Augusta: survival, chaos and no mercy. Some stars scraped through. Bryson didn’t. And he only needed one clean hole to avoid disaster.
