Charley Hull, Lottie Woad and Leona Maguire headline Anna Nordqvist's European team as it tries to reclaim the Solheim Cup in the Netherlands.

The 2026 European Solheim Cup team has experience, emerging star power and one obvious mission when play begins at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands: take the trophy back from the United States.

First-time captain Anna Nordqvist will lead a 12-player European roster featuring established match-play threats Charley Hull, Carlota Ciganda, Céline Boutier and Leona Maguire, alongside four Solheim Cup rookies.

Hull enters her eighth Solheim Cup with a 15-9-3 career record, making the 30-year-old Englishwoman one of Nordqvist's most important weapons. Ciganda will also make her eighth consecutive appearance and brings a 12-11-4 record.

But Europe isn't simply leaning on its veterans.

Lottie Woad may be the most intriguing newcomer on either team. The 22-year-old English star has rocketed into the world's top five after turning professional in 2025 and has already won twice on the LPGA Tour.

Her latest victory came at the 2026 Kroger Queen City Championship.

Germany's Esther Henseleit also arrives in form after finishing runner-up to Shiho Kuwaki in a playoff at the 2026 AIG Women's Open.

Major champion Maja Stark, Linn Grant and Nanna Koerstz Madsen give Europe additional experience, while Boutier returns for her fifth appearance.

Then there's Maguire.

Nordqvist used one of her four captain's picks on the Irishwoman despite Maguire failing to qualify automatically.

It's easy to understand why. Maguire owns an outstanding 8-3-1 Solheim Cup record and has never lost a singles match.

Nordqvist's other three picks - Julia López Ramírez, Nastasia Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes - will all make their Solheim Cup debuts.

Rhodes won three times on the Ladies European Tour in 2025, while Nadaud captured the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España before earning her LPGA Tour card.

López Ramírez adds another powerful young player to a European roster clearly built with both the present and future in mind.

Europe also has home-course energy on its side. The event marks the first Solheim Cup played in the Netherlands, with Nordqvist supported by vice-captains Caroline Hedwall, Mel Reid and Dutch standout Anne van Dam.

The Americans ended Europe's three-event unbeaten run with a 15½-12½ victory in Virginia in 2024.

Now Europe gets the home game.

And Nordqvist has assembled a team capable of making the rematch considerably uncomfortable for the defending champions.
