Stewart Cink, Miguel Angel Jiménez and golf legends headline Firestone’s final Kaulig Companies Championship before the event moves west.

The Kaulig Companies Championship brings PGA TOUR Champions back to Ohio this week, and Firestone Country Club gets one last heavyweight sendoff before the tournament packs up for California in 2027.

This isn’t just another senior major; it’s the final PGA TOUR Champions major at Firestone, ending a 73-year run of PGA TOUR golf in Akron.

For a place that has hosted giants, drama and decades of Sunday pressure, that’s a pretty big deal.

Stewart Cink enters as the name everyone is chasing.

He leads the Charles Schwab Cup standings, already owns two senior major wins this season and just finished runner-up at the U.S. Senior Open.

In other words, Cink isn’t just hot. He’s trying to turn 2026 into a statement year.

But the field has teeth.

Defending champion Miguel Angel Jiménez is back, and so are past Kaulig winners Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh and Bernhard Langer.

That’s a lot of hardware, swagger and scar tissue walking around Firestone’s South Course. Rookie Zach Johnson also adds another major-tested name to a field built for nostalgia and competition.

Firestone won’t hand out anything cheap, either. The South Course plays as a par 70 at 7,248 yards, and the winner will take home $525,000 from a $3.5 million purse.

The scoring history is loaded, too, from Retief Goosen’s 62 in 2019 to Kenny Perry’s 261 tournament record in 2013.

Beginning next year, the event becomes the Hoag SENIOR PLAYERS Championship at Newport Beach Country Club. That future may be bright, but this week belongs to Akron.

Firestone gets one last major spotlight. The legends get one more crack at it. And Cink gets another chance to keep owning the season.
