Keegan Bradley and Tony Finau survived the Wyndham cut, but both still need big weekends to save their FedExCup Playoffs streaks and extend 2026.
Keegan Bradley and Tony Finau aren’t safe yet, but they’re still breathing.
Two of the PGA Tour's biggest names survived a tense Friday at the Wyndham Championship, making the 3-under cut at Sedgefield Country Club and keeping their FedExCup Playoffs hopes alive for at least 36 more holes.
For Bradley, the escape required a late charge.
The eight-time PGA Tour winner played his final six holes in 3 under to reach the weekend on the number. Bradley entered the week at No. 73 in the FedExCup standings and now needs roughly a tie for 38th or better to crack the top 70 and advance to Memphis.
After 15 straight postseason appearances, Bradley admitted the pressure felt enormous.
“I was really, really nervous coming down to the end, like ‘to win the tournament’ sort of feel,” Bradley said.
That urgency comes after a difficult season that Bradley acknowledged never truly found its rhythm following the 2025 Ryder Cup, where he captained the United States in a home loss at Bethpage Black.
“It was such a weird time after the Ryder Cup,” Bradley said. “It was really tough for me to get back into this whole life.”
Now he gets a chance to salvage the year.
Finau’s task is considerably tougher.
The six-time Tour winner sits No. 89 in the FedExCup standings and likely needs a two-way tie for third to sneak into the postseason. He gave himself a chance by firing a second-round 66 and making several clutch pars down the stretch.
Finau didn’t dodge the reality of his season.
“It’s been a failed season up to this point,” he said.
His weekend strategy isn’t complicated.
“All gas, no brake.”
Finau even told his caddie, “If we go down, we’re going to go down swinging.”
Jordan Spieth also survived the cut after rounds of 68 and 69, while defending Wyndham champion Cameron Young responded to an opening 71 with a 66 to reach 3 under.
Others weren’t as fortunate.
Ryan Gerard and Ben Griffin missed by one shot at 2 under, while Jason Day’s 18-year FedExCup Playoffs streak officially ended after he finished 4 over.
That leaves Bradley and Finau fighting for something bigger than positioning. They’re fighting to keep their seasons alive. Both survived Friday. Now surviving Sunday is the only thing that matters.
