Kristoffer Reitan captured his first PGA Tour win at Quail Hollow, holding off Rickie Fowler and Alex Fitzpatrick to take the Truist Championship.

Kristoffer Reitan’s PGA Tour breakthrough came fast, loud and against one of the strongest fields of the season.

The Norwegian surged to his first career PGA Tour victory Sunday at the 2026 Truist Championship, closing with a 69 at Quail Hollow Club to finish at 15-under par.

That was good enough for a two-shot win over Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Højgaard, completing a remarkable rise for a player who wasn’t even in signature-event fields a few weeks ago.

Reitan’s path to the trophy was anything but ordinary. After a runner-up finish at the Zurich Classic alongside Kris Ventura, he earned alternate status for the Cadillac Championship, got into the field after Jake Knapp withdrew and tied for 14th.

That result helped push him into the Truist Championship, where he changed his career.

The victory makes Reitan just the second Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour, joining Viktor Hovland. It also locks up his PGA Tour status through 2028 and moves him to No. 13 in the FedEx Cup standings.

Reitan began the final round one shot behind Alex Fitzpatrick, then survived a crowded Sunday chase.

He birdied No. 4, gave shots back with consecutive bogeys, then stayed patient while Fowler, Tommy Fleetwood, J.J. Spaun and Harry Hall all made runs.

The decisive stretch came late. Reitan buried birdie putts on Nos. 14 and 15, then saved par from inside 12 feet on No. 16 to protect the lead entering Quail Hollow’s brutal Green Mile.

Fowler finished at 13 under after an eight-birdie charge, while Fitzpatrick faded to fourth at 12 under.

Rory McIlroy tied for 19th at 5 under after a final-round 67, saying, “I hit the ball much better today.”

For Reitan, Sunday wasn’t just a win. It was a career reset.
