Michael Brennan wins the Wyndham at 22-under, vaults to No. 47 in the FedEx Cup, earns another Masters invitation and enters the postseason with momentum.

Michael Brennan didn’t just win the 2026 Wyndham Championship on Sunday. He rescued his season, punched his ticket to the FedEx Cup Playoffs and announced that his breakout on the PGA Tour is starting to look like something much bigger.

The 24-year-old closed the deal at Sedgefield Country Club with a 22-under total, matching the tournament’s course scoring record and beating Beau Hossler by three shots.

Brennan began the week outside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup standings. He left Greensboro at No. 47.

That’s one heck of a Sunday.

Brennan entered the final round tied with Hossler but quickly turned a shootout into his tournament to lose. A blistering stretch of five consecutive birdies from Nos. 4-8 sent him around the front nine in 5-under 30 and created separation before anyone else could respond.

The highlight nearly came at the par-3 seventh, where Brennan’s 7-iron from 210 yards flirted with an ace.

He wasn’t flawless coming home. Drives found trouble at Nos. 15 and 17, and Hossler briefly applied pressure with back-to-back birdies.

Brennan never cracked.

He saved both pars, found the fairway at 18 and finished the tournament with one final birdie.

It was Brennan’s second PGA Tour victory in only 29 starts, and the timing couldn’t have been better. He needed at least a three-way tie for second to have any chance of extending his season.

Winning vaulted him comfortably inside the playoff field and positioned him to potentially reach the BMW Championship.

There’s another bonus: Brennan earned another invitation to the Masters.

The former Wake Forest standout has already shown he can handle golf’s biggest stages. Brennan made the cut in all four majors this season, one of only 14 players to accomplish that feat.

Meanwhile, Hossler’s wait continues. More than 250 PGA Tour starts into his career, he remains without a victory after another close call.

Jordan Spieth finished T19 at 11-under, while 21-year-old Jackson Koivun survived the FedEx Cup bubble at T29 and advanced to Memphis.

Brooks Koepka wasn’t as fortunate.

Koepka finished T67 and saw his comeback season end outside the playoffs after another frustrating week on the greens.

“It’s pretty pathetic that I can’t get through,” Koepka said afterward, adding that he needs to “completely reevaluate everything.”

While Koepka heads home searching for answers, Brennan is going the other direction.

Straight into the playoffs and carrying a trophy with him.
