Moving Day at Aronimink opened with a scoring surge as Michael Kim, Chris Kirk and Justin Rose attacked a tight PGA Championship leaderboard.

Round 3 of the PGA Championship is already delivering the kind of Moving Day drama Aronimink Golf Club promised. After two rounds of demanding scoring conditions, Saturday opened with a very different feel ... birdies, momentum swings and a leaderboard begging to be shaken up.

The early wave wasted no time proving Aronimink could be attacked. Michael Kim came out blazing, moving 5-under through his first seven holes despite not hitting a fairway.

Chris Kirk matched that pace at 5-under through seven, while Justin Rose jumped 4-under through seven and Padraig Harrington moved 3-under through eight.

That’s a sharp turn from the first 36 holes, when players struggled to find much separation and par often felt like a good score. Now, the course looks vulnerable, at least for those already on it.

The big question is whether the afternoon wind arrives. If it does, the early starters may have grabbed a major edge before conditions toughen. If it doesn’t, the names near the top of the PGA Championship leaderboard could have a green light to chase low numbers.

Plenty of star power is still waiting to make its Saturday move. Jordan Spieth began the day at 1-over alongside Dustin Johnson, while Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka also started at 1-over in a marquee pairing. Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele were grouped together at 1-over, with Patrick Cantlay and Jason Day sitting at 1-under.

Later, Scottie Scheffler began at 2-under with David Puig, while Cameron Young and Justin Thomas also started at 2-under.

With a compact leaderboard and Aronimink suddenly giving players chances, Saturday at the PGA Championship has all the ingredients for a chaotic finish. Moving Day has arrived, and it’s already moving fast.
