Scottie Scheffler leads a loaded Memorial Tournament field as Muirfield Village celebrates 50 years with a three-peat chase.
The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday is turning 50, and Scottie Scheffler is walking into Muirfield Village Golf Club with a chance to make the anniversary feel even bigger.
Scheffler, the world No. 1 and FedExCup leader, is chasing his third straight Memorial title.

If he pulls it off, he’ll become the first PGA TOUR player since Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic from 2009-11 to win the same event three years in a row.
That’s rare air, and it makes Scheffler the obvious headline in a stacked 72-player field.
Muirfield Village has become one of Scheffler’s favorite battlegrounds.
Last year, he closed with a 2-under 70 and won by four shots, joining Tiger Woods as the only players to repeat at Jack Nicklaus’ tournament.
He made just one bogey over his final 40 holes, which is borderline rude on a course built to punish sloppy golf.
But this week isn’t just about Scheffler.
Rory McIlroy is back at the Memorial for the first time since 2024, now carrying the shine of another Masters victory.
McIlroy has four straight top-20 finishes at Muirfield Village in his recent appearances, though he’s still hunting his first win here.
Cameron Young and Matt Fitzpatrick, sitting second and third in the FedExCup standings, return after the PGA Championship.
The two have combined for five wins in 2026, giving the field even more heavyweight energy. Ludvig Åberg arrives with one of the hottest streaks in golf, finishing inside the top 20 in eight of his last nine starts and placing T5 in his Memorial debut in 2024.
Russell Henley also rolls in hot after winning the Charles Schwab Challenge. He has three other top-10 finishes this season, including a T3 at the Masters and a T5 at last year’s Memorial.
The course remains a monster: par 72, 7,569 yards, and designed by Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead.
The winner gets 700 FedExCup points, $4 million, a three-year PGA TOUR exemption and a spot in THE PLAYERS Championship through 2029.
Television coverage runs Thursday and Friday on Golf Channel, with weekend coverage split between Golf Channel and CBS.
The Memorial has history. Scheffler wants more of it.
