Dangerous weather delayed Saturday’s Truist Championship third round at Quail Hollow, where Sungjae Im leads Tommy Fleetwood by one shot.
The Truist Championship at Quail Hollow got a bumpy start Saturday, with dangerous weather forcing a 75-minute delay before the third round finally began at 8:50 a.m. ET.
The revised tee times add another layer of tension to a Signature Event already loaded with major names, weekend pressure and a tight leaderboard.
Sungjae Im enters the third round as the player to chase at 9-under.
Tommy Fleetwood is right behind him at 8-under, while Justin Thomas and Alex Fitzpatrick sit two shots back at 7-under. Rory McIlroy, always a major storyline at Quail Hollow, moved into the weekend mix after shooting a 4-under 67 to reach 5-under.
With the PGA Championship looming next week, Quail Hollow offers more than FedExCup points and Signature Event money.
It’s also a major-style test for players trying to sharpen their games before one of golf’s biggest weeks. The weather delay could make Saturday feel even more unpredictable, especially if course conditions shift during the day.
Fans still have plenty of ways to watch. Golf Channel carries coverage from 1-3 p.m. ET before CBS takes over from 3-6 p.m.
PGA TOUR Live on ESPN+ runs from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., including main coverage, marquee groups, featured groups and the Betcast presented by DraftKings.
Saturday’s featured viewing includes Andrew Novak with Matt Fitzpatrick at 9:55 a.m., Mackenzie Hughes with Hideki Matsuyama at 9:10 a.m., Jason Day with Robert MacIntyre at 10:15 a.m., Jordan Spieth with Xander Schauffele at 12:05 p.m. and Cameron Young with Ludvig Åberg at 2 p.m.
Nos. 14 and 17 will also be spotlighted as featured holes, giving fans a closer look at two key spots where this Truist Championship could turn fast.
