Shane Lowry and Brooks Koepka missed the Zurich Classic cut by one shot after Lowry’s final-hole birdie try slid by Friday.

Shane Lowry and Brooks Koepka arrived at the 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans with plenty of name power, major championship credibility and a little post-Masters momentum. They left New Orleans earlier than expected.

The Lowry-Koepka pairing missed the cut by one shot Friday after finishing 36 holes at 9-under par.

The cut settled at 10 under, leaving one of the week’s most recognizable teams just outside the weekend at TPC Louisiana.

Koepka and Lowry opened with a 6-under 66 on Thursday, then added a 3-under 69 in Friday’s alternate-shot format.

They gave themselves a real chance late, making birdies on two of their final five holes after starting the day on the 10th tee. But the final push came up short when Lowry missed a 9-foot birdie attempt on the par-3 ninth, their closing hole.

That putt would’ve moved the duo to 10 under and safely into the weekend. Instead, their Zurich Classic run ended at the cutline’s doorstep.

They weren’t alone. Tony Finau and Max Greyserman also finished at 9 under, while Michael Brennan and Johnny Keefer crashed out despite a brilliant 11-under 61 in the opening round.

Brennan and Keefer followed that with a 3-over 75 in alternate shot, a reminder of how quickly this team format can flip.

There was drama on the other side of the cut, too. Lanto Griffin and Ben Kohles birdied three of their final five holes, including a 34-footer at the last, to survive at 10 under. David Lipsky and Rico Hoey also reached the number after Lipsky holed a clutch bunker pitch late.

Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer lead at 16 under, but with Saturday returning to four-ball, the teams barely inside the cut still have room to make a move.
